Was about to reply to @HonestGabe 's message until the thread got closed.

I would love for the rangers to get Alex Tuch, and I have a gut feeling that the Rangers/Sabres rumors have legs, but knowing Drury's history he isnt going to go big like that at the deadline.

Fellas I've been looking around and I haven't seen anything indicating Kreider is being rumored in trades.

Doesn't mean it won't happen, but with the amount of dialogue you'd at least think some of the main beat writers had said something. Is it just that he's being held out of the lineup?

let's talk no movement clauses. why do the rangers give out so many dang clauses?
Because players and their agents negotiate for them. If a team wants to give them less trade protection, the player and his agent are going to want more money and higher signing bonuses.

Movement clauses are one of the things the NHL and NHLPA agreed to in the CBA. The player and their agents are going to use it to have some control over where they go.

If you want to complain about movement clauses, look at the root cause. Movement clauses only apply to UFA years. If we had less players on UFA contracts, we'd have less movement clauses. This is a team-building issue, not a CBA issue.

The original trade memo mentioned Trouba and Kreider by name, and only one of them is still here. Kreider was healthy scratched for a game as well. that doesnt signal to me that they are thrilled with his play, regardless of injury. And even with his back, and this apparently new phantom injury, everything about his season has been handled in an odd way.

He'll probably make it through the deadline and return at some point in place of Othmann, but imo, he is being held out not because he's def being moved but as a precaution if he is.

Brady Skjei in 2020. His name was not out there. Nowhere. We discussed the possibility of the Rangers moving him on this board. The Rangers were facing a possible cap crunch especially after re-signing Kreider earlier that day. Right before the 3pm deal, Shayna tweeted the Rangers were trading Brady Skjei to the Carolina Hurricanes for a first round pick in 2020. Braden Schneider.

Frederic is injured. Week to week.

The NHL and NHLPA need to have a discussion about there being too many clauses. You don't see this amount of clauses in the other sports.

Bruins are selling. They play Nashville tonight without Marchand. A loss would be a killer as they will have played the most games in the East after tonight. Saw a rumor they were discussing Carlo trade with calgary also. One less threat in the playoff race hopefully.

Every team in the league hands them out. It’s the reality of the NHL, you’re not signing players without them.

All a GM can hope to do is negotiate them to provide wiggle room when it’s needed

Steal of a contract for a pretty good bottom 6 C

Missed this quote from Jones the other day. Vibes were upbeat after trading Lindgren (crying about getting traded) and Vesey (crying about playing time)? You don't say? Im sure trading sourpusses like Kakko and Trouba didnt hurt the vibes either.

Hoping the Rangers can pull Novak this week. McLeod would be fine too, but RFA this summer. I have no interest in Laughton.
