No. I presume the reason the Habs had so many meetings with him is because he never admitted he wasn't a finished product. You never know if he will refuse to be coached and be a complete dud. What did he do that suggested his attitude was poor? Are you referring to the claim that he should have been drafted first overall or the glare in the Habs direction at the draft?
He's just a kid and not all of them say or do the right things at 18 years old, they aren't machines.
Nick Suzuki played on the lower lines for us as a young player and look at him now.
I’m not comparing the two as prospects, I’m comparing the two as draftees and their perspective within their franchise. Not even close to the same thing. Wright looked so much worse in his 8 game stint in the NHL, was a complete non factor in the OHL playoff, and looked horrible in the AHL playoffs. Slaf looked better in a league that is 100 times harder. Slafkosvky was rising during his draft year while Wright was falling.
Slafkosvky was a driver just like Suzuki on the top line which was the best line in the NHL for half a season while Wright was the one riding shotgun next to better players than him in the AHL.
They definitely weren't perfectly happy with him, and as mentioned, his stock definitely fell from the days he was the unanimous #1 pick that would be an effective NHLer in his D+1 season.
Most people definitely didn't consider him NHL ready and wanted him back in Liiga or the AHL.Slaf was deemed NHL ready
Before the 2021-2022 season:Wright was not so he wasn’t.
Time will tell if they made the right choice or not but I will say, good centers aren't easy to come by and the last 30 years prove it for the Habs.No. I presume the reason the Habs had so many meetings with him is because he never admitted he wasn't a finished product. We will pass the Bruins with our games in hand..............hopefully!!huh, Minnesota did us a favor today. i forgot how the scoreboard-watching phase can be fun.
Pettersson has been brutal and it seems to be the new normal. That contract is aging poorly.Man, Canucks really screwed themselves with that Miller trade. He's been unsurprisingly good for NYR, while Pettersson has done f*** all for Vancouver.
Canucks are flaming out hard now. Rangers were sinking hard, but Miller seems to have helped right the ship.
Damn Shane Wright is becoming a beast.
He looks like a faster Suzuki.
13:36... that's his toi/g for the season. Seattle sits in 5th from last.
He's playing and producing well in a sheltered role on a bad team.
Long way to go.
They went 18 games with having at least 1 points, 16 wins and 2 OTL for 34 points. It's easy to forget that they were treading water last year too until they went on an aboslute tear in the 2nd half of the season.
Management decided the 2nd half was more representative of who they are than the first half and added expensive peices to go for it.
Turns out the 1st half was more telling who they really were.
This was a miscalculation by management. On that note, who thought it would be a good idea to hire a career coach to be a GM? You just never see that anymore.
They also develop well, rarely rushing young players.Dallas drafts very good.
Hintz, Johnston, Robertson, Harley, Stankoven, Oettinger, Bourque, Bishell…
They do!They also develop well, rarely rushing young players.
True but Dallas has depth and can take their time with young players. Hughes inherited a bare prospect pool and some very average veterans. The process continues. They do!
We changed management and yet, we still rush our young players.
Rangers jump Montreal & Boston and move into 10th, 2 pts back of Detroit. Rangers just need to tie because they lead everyone in RWs from WC1 to 16th place.
Pittsburgh has already played 63 games. The most in NHL. Buffalo has only played 58 games. They have 5 games in hand on the Pens. That's an insane vaiance this late in the season.
