What did he do that suggested his attitude was poor? Are you referring to the claim that he should have been drafted first overall or the glare in the Habs direction at the draft?

He's just a kid and not all of them say or do the right things at 18 years old, they aren't machines.

Nick Suzuki played on the lower lines for us as a young player and look at him now.
No. I presume the reason the Habs had so many meetings with him is because he never admitted he wasn't a finished product. You never know if he will refuse to be coached and be a complete dud.

Not even close to the same thing. Wright looked so much worse in his 8 game stint in the NHL, was a complete non factor in the OHL playoff, and looked horrible in the AHL playoffs. Slaf looked better in a league that is 100 times harder. Slafkosvky was rising during his draft year while Wright was falling.

Slafkosvky was a driver just like Suzuki on the top line which was the best line in the NHL for half a season while Wright was the one riding shotgun next to better players than him in the AHL.

They definitely weren't perfectly happy with him, and as mentioned, his stock definitely fell from the days he was the unanimous #1 pick that would be an effective NHLer in his D+1 season.
I’m not comparing the two as prospects, I’m comparing the two as draftees and their perspective within their franchise.

Slaf was deemed NHL ready, so he was thrust to the NHL… and Wright was not so he wasn’t.

Slaf was deemed NHL ready
Most people definitely didn't consider him NHL ready and wanted him back in Liiga or the AHL.
Wright was not so he wasn’t.
Before the 2021-2022 season:

Before the 2022 draft:

That is undisputed proof that Wright's stock definitely fell since the days where he was seen as a can't miss prospect. Many also said he'd be NHL ready in his D+1 because of his 2way game but his poor draft year and extra 2 years after being drafted say otherwise.

I forget where I saw it, but it's closer to 15 games with 0s. His last point came in January. Granted the NHLnwas shut down for 2 weeks, but still.

Man, Canucks really screwed themselves with that Miller trade. He's been unsurprisingly good for NYR, while Pettersson has done f*** all for Vancouver.

Canucks are flaming out hard now. Rangers were sinking hard, but Miller seems to have helped right the ship.
Pettersson has been brutal and it seems to be the new normal. That contract is aging poorly.

It's easy to forget that they were treading water last year too until they went on an aboslute tear in the 2nd half of the season.

Management decided the 2nd half was more representative of who they are than the first half and added expensive peices to go for it.

Turns out the 1st half was more telling who they really were.

This was a miscalculation by management. On that note, who thought it would be a good idea to hire a career coach to be a GM? You just never see that anymore.
They went 18 games with having at least 1 points, 16 wins and 2 OTL for 34 points.
They replaced Sherwood and Tomisano with Marchessault and Stamkos, you would think they would do better than last year.

Josi seemed to have lost a step this year and maybe it’s just an off year.

Pittsburgh has already played 63 games. The most in NHL. Buffalo has only played 58 games. They have 5 games in hand on the Pens. That's an insane vaiance this late in the season.

Rangers jump Montreal & Boston and move into 10th, 2 pts back of Detroit. Rangers just need to tie because they lead everyone in RWs from WC1 to 16th place.

With a win on Monday, Montreal would move within 1 point of a playoff spot regardless of what happens around them.

It bears repeating that I highly doubt playoffs for montreal, but I really like for them to keep it interesting as long as possible.

Rangers play a rivalry game tommorow on their back to back against the Islanders. That could be interesting too.

That is wild. I didn't expect much from Pittsburgh but I certainly didn't think they would be a serious basement challenger either.

I'd hate to see crosby's final years wasting like that. It's almost as if things are coming full circle as the Pens were god awful in his rookie season too.

Another hatty for Wyatt Johnston. Started the year with 7 points in 17 games and has 48 points in 43 games since then. One of my favourite players in the league.

Robertson also had 8 points in those first 17 games and then 52 points in 43 games since.
