PIZZA

(from a fellow transplant Floridian to another, you can't forget that one)
That's hysterical, because from the VERY SECOND I pressed post reply......I thought about that, and then of course there is the great chinese food amongst other cuisines. But yeah, the NY Pizza that is only comparable to mine! ;)

Since Shestyorkin is coming over next season, and we just drafted Lindbom, will Georgiev be moved at the draft?

Lmao! Hell yeah he would! From the train wreck of a franchise in Edmonton, to the bright city lights of NY?
Where everybody knows your name? Where you have professional baseball and football teams? (Notice I didn't say basketball) Broadway? 42nd street? Museums? Did I forget something?

Boy, do I miss home. Really do.

Another NY -> FL transplant here.

What I miss about NY/NYC

Pizza
Bagels
Water (drinking)
MSG (going to Rangers games)
US Open (tennis)
Seafood restaurants
MSG pre/postgame Rangers (I'm not buying a sport package solely for this)

What I don't

Property Taxes
State Income Tax
High(er) Sales Tax
The Weather
The miserable people all working 2 jobs to pay their bills
The Traffic
The slow-ass LIRR

For me, personally, FL > NY, but I do miss stuff.

He'd probaby be gone by then and hopefully Shesty will be starting a decent amount of games in the NHL because HL30 is a UFA that off-season.

That doesn't fix the problem I mentioned. We need to expose a goalie in the 2021 expansion draft. Lundqvist can't be exposed because he is a pending UFA that summer and in case of an extension, will probably have a NMC. Shestyorkin is exempt. I think Georgiev and Shestyorkin will split time in the AHL at least this upcoming season

we can just preemptively sign one

Right there with you. Miss the "stuff", but not the BS.
But, hush hush. We don't want those damned New Yawkers coming here........oh wait, what?

Btw, if ypu have directv, you dont need a special sports package per sé, just sportspack at $13.00 per month, includes MSG, YES and SNY. Get all pre games and post games.
Can even get that coupled with showtime or starz......just make a deal with them. Lol

Isn't there a min GP in the last 2 seasons for the goalie to be exposed?

Negative.

* One goalie who is under contract in 2021-22 or will be a restricted free agent at the end of his current contract immediately prior to 2021-22. If a team elects to make a restricted free agent goalie available to meet this requirement, that goalie must have received his qualifying offer prior to the submission of the team's protected list.

Seattle 2021 NHL Expansion Draft rules same as Golden Knights followed

Forget everything I said then. Apologies.

I've been writing an article on the resurgence of Rykov and Reunanen for the last 2 days. I've been quite busy

I think Lindbom was drafted to potentially replace Shesty. 5-7 years from now. Having a productive goalie on an ELC is massive value in a capped league.

More on topic, trading Zibanejad NOW is ~okay depending on the return but you lock yourself into not contending until 21-22 with the Staal/Smith/Shattenkirk expirations.

While this is probably the plan anyway, you remove all flexibility for the next 3 years in your team building in this regard. Lot of potential avenues no longer make sense with that timeline and roster construction.

I probably wouldn't do it for that reason, plus yanno the whole #1C on a 5M deal part.

One week to go. I expect McQuaid to be the first to go similar to Holden last year. Guys like Chytil and Howden when he comes back better be ready, they're going to get top 6 minutes and lots of it.

I expect one prospect they acquire to be up with the big club the rest of the year. Appleton/Lemiuex/Fredric/etc.

I'm very curious what happens with Georgiev this summer. I'd like to keep him. Lundqvist/Georgiev/Shesterkin/Huska who is the forgotten man, they all need to play.
