Instead of chasing grit/toughness, they should have been chasing some centers who could replace Strome and maybe even not rope them into a giant deal for Zbad.

Their priorities are always based on the most recent thing that happened to them, not so much on what they really need to improve as a team.

I'm seeing a future where Schneider (for his crease clearing ability) and Jones (for his offensive ability) will both be needed on the Rangers defense. As soon as they are ripe, they should be in the lineup.

This leaves Lundkvist as the odd man out. Right now, in my mind, he is the bait to return a young center.
No slam on the player as I think he has been settling in, but on a need basis, the others just fit better.

Big time bait for a big time deal.

That’s pretty much how I see it too Bob.
If Robertson progress like schneider he has a chance to be a solid partner for Fox.
He might not be as physical as Lindgren, but he’s bigger and should do everything else better.

He’ll never be as physical as Schneider per say, but I hope when he matures and adds a little weight, he’ll use his body more.

Strome and georgiev are the two guys on this roster I want and have wanted gone asap. I would literally be happier w a lesser player in that 2c slot than having strome on this roster...
I’ve been saying this since before camp..... many said I was nuts and Too hard on strome, excellent chemistry with panarin, top end in points for 2C league wide the last few years, etc. the usual.....
He played his best hockey in 2 shortened seasons.
He is as affective as a used Trojan when panarin isn’t carrying him.
The fact that he has a letter on his chest for my fav hockey team, and doesn’t think it’s a problem what happened with shesty makes me sick.
He was unlikeable before when he kept his mouth shut and put up points and played bad hockey at every other facet of the game.
Now that they have him out front answering questions as an unofficial spokesman for the team so to speak, makes him even more of a Douche .

don’t get me started on Georgiev either. Kravtsov and him should go to the same gynecologist.

Not sure why any player would wanna play here given fans hate half the roster irrationally.

I love our roster. I don’t love the construction of it, but I like almost everyone on it. I’m disappointed with the kids progress, and I could take or leave the guys on the fringes like Nemeth and McKegg. But aside from that, I love the personnel here… except for Ryan Strome. And I’ve hated him since day 1. Almost since day 1 in the league.

To me, not only has he been a red herring his entire time here, but I have some connections and in ways around the league, having grown up in the houses of many NYI players and in their locker room nonstop. I grew up friends with a lot of their daughters and sons, I played hockey with a lot of them, dated a couple of them, watched some of them go on to work for the Isles and MSG, etc. Not only have I felt that Strome’s production masked massive deficiencies since the beginning, I know shit about Ryan Strome from his early days in the league that most people would agree warrant a beat down. Now, granted, I did enough dumb shit in my day, and Strome is a married man who may have matured since then, but the things I know about him, and the type of character I see (USDA certified 100% frat bro)… if Strome developed a 200 foot game tomorrow and we went on a run to win a cup and he took home the Conn Smyth, I’d be happy but I still wouldn’t be a fan.

I hear you. I think most of us feel this way but unfortunately probably half the oher teams in the league if not more are looking for centers as well. Forget about cost controlled centers it's not gonna happen. Even harder to acquire.
Zegras, Larkin, probably even a Turcotte/Kupari all a pipe dream. Eichel?
We are gonna have to have one of our centers we drafted in 2021 and hopefully a couple we draft in 2022 to hit their ceilings. Hopefully a Barron continues to develop.
I was even for looking into Dvorak but have to admit he has barely been a decent 3C guy in Montreal so far.
Getting a center to replace Zbad's production is almost impossible without getting robbed and even if Strome has flaws his offense wouldn't be easily replaced as well.

Best fans in the world my ass. We had shitbags getting on Blais case before he even played a game because he was the return on Buch. This fanbase is one of the worst, not best. No wonder no one ever plays well when they get here.

This is how I have always felt about Logan Couture. I grew up and spent most of my life in San Jose. Most guys are cool. Some though, some are pieces of shit. I'd rather lose without them than win with em.

I’d like to not like this post so much.

are you saying Stromer's a slut?

This one is a head scratcher as Lundkvist has played 10 or 11 games and still hasn’t shown he belongs in the NHL(yet) but Jones in his 10 games last season and training camp this season, looks like an NHLer RIGHT NOW!!!
If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck then it’s pretty much a duck. Right now Jones is the more ready player than Lundkvist, I just don’t know how they can forget his games last season but then look at Nils and keep him up here

Rangers shouldn’t hesitate to send Lundkvist down if his play doesn’t improve and call up Jones. Some AHL time isn’t a death sentence like some fans (and players apparently) think

Laf is currently losing in a poll to Pulujujarvi as to who you’d rather have going forward o_O

I haven’t been impressed by Laf in the slightest but that’s a tad silly. Way too early for a poll like that. JP has looked good this year to his credit, although I think I’d have about 8 points myself playing next to McD.
