I'm seeing a future where Schneider (for his crease clearing ability) and Jones (for his offensive ability) will both be needed on the Rangers defense. As soon as they are ripe, they should be in the lineup.

This leaves Lundkvist as the odd man out. Right now, in my mind, he is the bait to return a young center.

No slam on the player as I think he has been settling in, but on a need basis, the others just fit better.

Big time bait for a big time deal.
Big time right ON ! We have needs and those are two of them for sure . It won't hurt having a big bodied mean spirited western Canadian boy back there and Jones puck skills on the left side will certainly make for smoother transition to offense . Next...we need Panarin to get in shape....maybe time for a team issued baby sitter/private trainer for him as it looks like he needs some help. Imagine...a 7 yr hockey pro making 11+ million and needing help with that . Best they entertain quietly all offers for him starting now . Use his deal/money to find that Center we need . Panarin will never be comfortable sitting at Gallant's lunch table unless he changes his game like Yzerman did for the Wings and Ovie did for Trotz and buys into overall team D .

Miller's looked way better defensively this year and is starting to pick it up in the o zone. He tried to dangle in OT the other day and it led to the breakway winner against, glad to see he hasn't shied away from carrying the puck. Lunqvist looked better last game- no big ef ups or getting manhandled in the d zone, tied up his guy a few times allowing support time to retrieve the puck, and a few sharp quick passes to set up scoring chances in the o zone.

Ice Breakers: Chicago in no rush to hire next GM; Habs, Sens eye Kravtsov - Daily Faceoff
Keep an eye on Vitali Kravtsov, the New York Rangers’ No. 9 overall pick from the 2018 NHL Draft, who had NHL teams buzzing after his first game back in the KHL on loan with Traktor Chelyabinsk.
League sources say the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators were the two teams who expressed the most interest in Kravtsov, who refused his assignment to AHL Hartford and forced his way back to Russia. The Rangers gave Kravtsov’s agent, Dan Milstein, permission to help seek a trade.
Neither team can really address our deficits, so likely looking at picks or more tuff forwards on the wrong side of their 20s we can lock up for the rest of the decade.

Strome and Georgiev are the only two guys I don’t like on this team
Yes, this is where I'm at as well.

They're two players who just seem destined to be on rebuilding teams' rosters. Strome can lollygag and eat up meaningless minutes for an organization who just needs placeholders and collect points. Georgiev can go roll around without it mattering if he gives up a bad goal every night or not.

Two born losers who are just simply not the types of players and personalities you see very often on winning teams but frequently see on bad teams.

Love people still dumping on Georgiev even though we're bleeding shots and scoring chances that even Shesterkin is having a hard time with. The guy is an decent back up but we are not a good defensive team.

Once again, happy to see Gallant mention getting shots toward the net as an emphasis. 45 shots against vs. Florida isnt the concerning thing imo, its only 18 shots for and only 7(!!!) at even strength thats unacceptable. Id ike to see the lines switch up to have Laf/Kakko (and Chytil when healthy) in the top 6, but its encouraging that the coaching staff has identified this as the major issue offensively

He was a decent backup.

He hasn't been decent for over a year now though. His numbers have declined every year in the league, and the proportion of stinker games keeps going up.
