I still think we’re better served running
Zibby-Chytil-Barron-Rooney down the middle for the rest of the season.
Barron gives us a different look style wise, plus adds size, good shot, more physical, etc
This also takes Panarins bestie away and lets us get a long look at chytil before deciding to keep him or cut bait and trade for an upgrade.
We’d be much better off in the long run here.... our team D from our Fwds can’t really get much worse

I think this cabal of veteran players needs to be broken up. The ship has sailed on Zibanejad's contract, so the obvious target is Strome.

I had hoped Gallant would whip us into shape. Others voiced concerns that he's too much of a cheerleader. It seems to me that the latter is bearing out so far.

The six captains stunt was a bad sign from the get-go. To me, that was the team acknowledging that they need new voices in leadership (Goodrow) but still wanted to coddle the old leaders so anybody pre-Goodrow gets a letter.

at 50% sounds like a first rounder to give up. Not cool with that.

I'd rather have Toews at 5ish than Strome at 6-7m, that's for sure ... I guess; all depends on Toews' legs. If he can skate, he should be helpful.

Toews should wave for us. Did he and Bread play on a line in Chicago?

Resigning Strome would be a very bad choice and would pretty much ensure we are going nowhere for for a long time. The trade should be made sooner rather than later. It is a shame it was not made during this break. Would have made sense. Being a fan of this team is a chore.

The six captains was a bad sign. My 'hope' (what else is there?) is now that Gallant was but giving the Captains rope, and at the end of that rope is responsibility. The other 'hope' is that Gallant is not only a teddy bear but one with a steel spine, he will need it.

Move him to RW and get a defensive C between them
Try Barron for starters
Even Rooney
