I think they try and send Hajek down right before injuries start to pile up around the league and someone picks him up on waivers. Probably still won't pass through but worth a shot.

Don't know if this was posted but on Vince's podcast he had Joe Micheletti as a guest and Joe said he thinks the choice for captain is between Fox and Trouba.

I'd have to think if Kreider was a serious consideration, he would have received the C last year.

Probably has to do with the Kypreos tweet last night that said NYR would let him get the surgery he wants and his medicals have been shared.

Yeah I'm not saying 6 weeks is feasible either, just that for one a pro athlete rehabbing stuff is far different than regular person rehabbing stuff. For one, it's their literal job and not just something to begrudgingly do inbetween your real work and family stuff, and two they have far better resources for the rehab including narcotics

The first month- 2 months they aren’t really going to want him doing anything but watching Tv and maybe some light stretching. They more then likely give him a brace that’s soft that he’ll have to wear 16-20 hours a day.
Sleeping in a neck brace prob blows the big one.
Surgery done on the back is vastly different then the neck too, though they are in the same region, weight bearing tasks and certain movements have very different effects on the spinal cord.

The two guys that don’t fit the roster kravtsov and Jones are going to be part of any deal. Chytil might too. Does Goodrow make more sense in the middle for this club as an actual checking center? and you have Morgan Barron

if you trade for Eichel and want to keep Mika there is zero room for Chytil to grow into a top 6 center here.

meanwhile Strome can fill the hold until Eichel is healthy and be dealt at the deadline.

say the trade is Chytil Kravtsov Jones and a First for Eichel which would be insane overpayment IMO

I still think it’s nuts but it’s very doable. I don’t see how the kings make this trade with Kopitar Danault Vilardi and Byfield already down the middle. Makes zero sense to me.

And then Anaheim has zegras who’s untouchable and that’s about it to offer

If that were the package you have to believe Drury is pushing for 2 mil retention.

So what? You can’t let this hold you hostage. You also aren’t going to get a good trade offer if they know he is going to lose musical chairs and likely to get waived.

In fairness I think the Rangers should probably work out some kind of deal to send Gauts to a team where he has a legit shot, or waive him. Too many high skill wingers here. He's def an NHL player on a shallower squad.

What’s this team’s plan for Chytil? He looked awful last night. He should have feasted on the Devils’ JV squad but other than some flashes was unremarkable.

Unfortunately it continues to be more of the same that we have seen the past two years. If he doesn't show significant growth this year than even the fan boys will have to start to get worried about him
