Yes. Good advice. As in life do everything that is in your control and do your due diligence then let the chips(ping pong Balls) fall where they may.

I read this wrong, nevermindI didn't think you were allowed to drink while driving for Uber.....
The Boston sentiment is that they have a lot of good young third line types but not enough threats on offense. Which jibes with what we’ve seen from Boston, I’d say. A guy like Zucc would be perfect for them. I guess the worry for the Rangers is if there’s another similar guy on the market for cheaper. Are there?Frankly I'd be more interested in either of Frederic or Donato and maybe Boston adds a 3rd as well.
Exactly. One Alpha GM out there could make a lot of hay. Veterans are so undervalued. In fact, that’s kind of what McPhee did last year.Considering how NHL GMs seem to sit on their hands and clutch their pearls these days over giving up anything in trades, I'm going to guess Kreider doesn't get moved.
Almost worked for Sather here in 2014 with the St. Louis desk and again in 2015 with the Yandle deal. Both of those teams were a few bounces from winning the cup really and were legit contenders.Exactly. One Alpha GM out there could make a lot of hay. Veterans are so undervalued. Totally agree. The Kings had no business winning that series in five. It was so much closer. And then the next year... that was when Zucc got hurt, right?Almost worked for Sather here in 2014 with the St. Louis desk and again in 2015 with the Yandle deal. Pipe dream deadline-
Assumptions - Duchene re-signs but Stone wants to leave and will negotiate extension, jackets don’t trade bread, TB wants to shore up their d and needs to shed cap to avoid a Point offer sheet
1. TB 1st 19, 3rd 20 and Callahan (no retention) for McQuaid
2. Stone to NYR for TB 1st 19, NYR 2nd 19, NYR 3rd 20 and Namestnikov. Stone signs 8x9 extension. This guy is the truth, forget panarin.
3. Zucc (50% retained), NYR 6th 19 to CGY for CGY 1st 19 and mangiapane
4. Hayes to NSH for NSH 1st 19 and allard
NYR still pick 3 times in the first and have 2, 3, 5 rd picks this year, full complement next year. Buyout cally in the summer. If zucc or Hayes want to come back and can fit, great- if not there are internal replacements.
Is that bern worthy or na?
I disagree, but you're entitled to you opinion.
Most teams bad enough to draft 3rd overall probably aren't in a position to be trading away youth though. But, that's the beauty of the Colorado situation. They're in position where they might entertain such an idea. Kreider and Zibanejad are better players now, and likely for the next 2-3 years, than the 2019 3rd overall pick will be. It's going to get difficult to keep their roster together once everyone starts coming up for a new contract.
Buffalo is another team that might entertain moving a lottery pick.
I think you need a team in the right situation to do it, but I think the value is there. Schneider returned the 10th OA. Stepan returned a package including the 7th OA. It's not without precedent.
Man... Yandle on this team would be nice

This seems kind of interesting to me. The elder Pettersson is 25, hasn't played in the NHL yet, former 6th round pick. Arizona trades two 23 year olds, former 2nd and 4th round picks, Dauphin with some NHL experience. Helewka seems about ready to make the jump.
Whats the play here? For Elias once a UFA? Was this about shedding one net contract? Couldn't have been for salary considerations…all three are pending RFAs...

Hehe, but in hindsight we have a tendency to always deal the wrong guy. We definitely should have traded McD and kept Yandle even if we weren’t ready to rebuild at that time...
Oh geez... is it February 26th yet?

To the folks who like fairytales, Zucc gets traded, and he comes back, how soon will he be traded again after he re-signs?
