I would say his reluctance in signing is more of a roster issue and not a fandom thing. Calgary and Carolina have logjams and he doesn't want to toil in lower leagues because he isn't needed at the higher level.

Carolina tried to address that issue and publically stated they will make a spot for him, but they haven't so far and there are other guys in the system too.

Another positive for us, albeit a minor one, is Lindgren partnered with him in international tournaments.
I’m sure that’s part of the reason as well

I would also note Calgary told him the same thing last summer that if he signed he’d have a spot and he told them no

So something is driving him

I know Brannstrom and Glass are off the table, but im askin for Gusev/Elvenes/Morozov/Hague any of those guys are valid targets. Who would we even want off of their main roster?

It's talked about far more often then it actually happens, but at least four by my count:
Olli Jokinen (CGY -> NYR -> CGY)
Antoine Vermette (ARI -> CHI -> ARI)
Tomas Plekanec (MTL -> TOR -> MTL)
Matt Moulson (BUF -> MIN -> BUF)

Keith Tkachuk did it as well if I remember correctly

Don’t know if anyone has seen this, but Bob was really good last year with some NHL stuff. I know for sure that he has connections within the metro area teams. So take what it for what it’s worth.

I’ll take any non-Roger rumors at this point.

I think someone did mention a Zucc/Brass reunion in Dallas. Give me Gurianov and send him on his way.

I think tomorrow night might be a last game for a couple guys. I think we start holding guys out soon.

This is a my crap for your crap deal. This is the type of deal Gorton should be able to find for Smith
Smith has been fantastic with Shatty lately, he's not someone we should actively try to move while his value is in the toilet. Aside from the odd egregious mistake or dumb penalty (he's taking less this year than he ever did as a Ranger), he is usually among our better defencemen.

If Carolina offered Necas + Fox + 1st for Kreider it makes sense to move him. That’s a hell of a package.
Canes wouldn’t trade Necas for Kreider straight up, I don’t know where this package came from

Wrong place for this however, I'm working the Rangers Alumni game today. Dix Hills Ice Rink. Kasparitis, Duguay, Orr, among some of the attendees. If anyone wants to come down, should be a good time. Starts at 6.

St. Louis did it with Tkachuk and Weight, but that falls outside the 10 year window. Rangers also did it with Rucinsky.

For some reason, I have it in my head that they wouldn't have had Rucinsky for the 2004-05 season if it happened, but then signed him for 05-06. Or maybe they didn't bring on Straka until then?

Not that it matters.
