Lots of three point games so far tonight which is good for the Rangers
can you post before the games start each night for 3 point games (minus the Rangers of course)? Pretty good night on the scoreboard with the exception of the Wings losing and Debbies again not being able to get two points.
Oh and Toews took Tanev to school on that goal in overtime holy cow. Not many critics this year about how he is a bad player.

Wow, ok, I see how it is

Looking at some of these west coast teams finally put things together I say we end up between 6 and 8 from the bottom when all is said and done. If Hayes/Zucc get traded earlier then the TDL maybe 5th. Not bad I would sign for that gives us about 20-26 percent chance for a top 3 pick.

29 games to go...still waiting for the NYR to drop in the standings.

Sitting in the 12th (!) pick slot right now.

Hard not to be pessimistic and not see yet another generation without elite talent.

There are 6 points separating the Rangers and the Devils, who have the 2nd worst record in the league. The Rangers will likely lose Zuccarello and Hayes, who have been involved in 44% of their goals, at the trade deadline and 20 of their last 29 games (including 12 of their next 13) are against teams with better records than them. I think the odds are pretty good that the Rangers will end up very close the bottom of the standings (and then the team in the 12th pick slot will end up winning the lottery).

That will probably be the Hurricanes again lol ( I know they didn't get first overall last year but they jumped up big time for Svechnikov). The Devils are really bad right now. Even with Schneider being fantastic tonight they barely scratched out a point. This is the bottom line if Hall comes back they could pass us without him they don't have much of a chance.

what are we giving them?

I have zero interest in Callahan. You want a vet bring back Boyle who will be much cheaper next year.

Zucc for their 1st and 2nd? I dont know how that makes the value of the Mac/Miller trade look when it is all said and done
Boyle may be cheaper but Callahan would come with an added bonus of some kind.

Brooks also said we were not trading Stepan, 6 hours before the trade was announced

Unrelated, but do you still have all the games from the 1994 Rangers/Islanders and Rangers/Capitals series? Round 1 and 2? I've been looking to get them somehow. Any chance you could help?

I really think we see at least one guy brought in who can handle himself physically if McQuaid is dealt. Watching the Bruins game last night, even with McQuaid in the line-up the team is somewhat soft. I’m not recommending going out and bringing in a McLeod-type but finding a couple of guys who don’t mind getting their nose dirty or stick up for teammates isn’t a bad thing. Playing Smith every game will help. Call up Beleskey for the 4th line. BBKers mentioned Kassian as a cap dump. He’d be a decent addition for this year and next.

Yeah, and I really hope its a younger guy this time.

As long as we get a shot at Turcotte I am happy. But even if all kinds of scouting services have him all over the place right now, some as low as 15, I would be very surprise if that is reflective of where the NHL teams have him and if he wasn't a clear cut No 3 on draft day.

The Rangers have also played less games than basically everyone below them.

The Rangers need to do their part and lose. The teams in the West are going to stay in this clump until the end. So many OT games no one will pull away. It’s better for the standings if the Rangers sell early.
It’s still early this morning but I feel like between messier and Lundqvist , the Rangers surround these two with players to stay competitive when they should have retired or moved on .
Messier could have retired earlier certainly. His skills had deteriorated by that time. Lundqvist is almost single handedly killing the one chance to tank.

I was looking at the Bruins board. It appears they’re desperate for scoring and also disappointed in many of their prospects. Maybe they’ll come knocking for Zuccarello. It’s a pretty up-and-down team. Zucc could be a good fit.

Looks like the cars were holding up the building. Where was that btw? Any clues?
LOL...egelband....did you ever study any Physics ? Haha...look again and tell me how those cars are holding it up . I tend to think the metal supports are doing that ....but maybe I am wrong . :) It is a great pic . Hope Machinehead can do a follow up for us.

I was joking. In fact, the metal supports aren’t holding up the building either.
