If we trade Kreider we’ll be looking for a player in his same mold for the next 5 years...
Riddle me this:
Why can’t Kreider be moved and re-signed next summer?
It’s not something we see too often, but I don’t see an edict from god forbidding it.
Just some food for thought.
Look at every deadline asset ranking. Everyone lists Hayes as a 3C but people are saying he’s going to return the moon...You wanna be more specific?
God actually did weigh in on this issue specifically and it is not permitted.Riddle me this:

And Zucc is a cult hero in Rangerstown, but to every other team he’s just a middle six forward.
What trade was that? So I can compare to Zuccarello's return now, and the potential Kreider ask? I'm not finding any trade rumors for Zuccarello last year?We didn’t trade Zucc last year when we had the opportunity to sell high, and now he’ll return less as a rental.
Some of these posts re: Kreider sound just like things I read about Zucc this time last year. Let’s not make the same mistake.
The possibilities, or potential “next moves” are also intriguing to me.
A year ago I would’ve said that sliding Skjei back into a second pairing role would help him considerably. Today, I’m not as sure about that, but it remains a possibility.
But even the opposite approach, moving him, has its own share of windows it could potentially open. Especially if the Rangers end up with someone like Byram in the first.

Which offer for Zucc was your favorite?
I`m not done with Lindy Ruff since he was hired it went downhill really fast, but I will let the topic rest until end of the season, because fact is we have one of the worst defense in national hockey league at the moment.
Aberg was a teammate of Zibanejad and Claesson. Kloos was a teammate of Skjei and Lettieri.
There’s very little chance he makes it to free agency.

It’s always possible, but there are typically two approaches players take:
1. They want guaranteed security and sign an extension with their new team. This helps them offset the risk of injury or a down year.
2. They test unrestricted free agency and the allure of more money, a better team, a better fit, or a better deal becomes very hard to pass up.
I asked the same question with Hayes. Sure it doesn't happen very often, but it's certainly a possibility.
The issue with Kreider is that he's got longer than Hayes to get comfortable with a new team and receive a substantial offer that would see him forego FA,. But again, you could certainly let him know you'd be open to bringing back if he was hit FA.
I do too.I wonder if Hayes has already played his last game as a NYR... sort of seems like it.
