Yeah, I really don’t see Vegas giving up a solid roster player.

If we’re trading with Vegas, Dugan, Morozov, and Dorofeyev are realistic targets.

I don’t see a deadline deal with that team, nor do I see a Skjei deal until the offseason.

Kreider - Colorado, Boston, Edmonton, Tampa, St, Louis, Pittsburgh

Georgiev - Toronto, Carolina, Edmonton, Florida, Colorado

Fast - Any playoff team

I can see them dealing Tuch either, would love to have him but I think people are undervaluing what he is on that team.

What kind of a player is Heinen? Who is a comparable? I’ve only seen him a couple times.

So I'll draw a sort of off the wall comparison: Buchnevich. I say that because Heinen is a skilled player who compliments much better players very well. He's more of a play-maker off the wing than a scorer, but he has a quick, accurate shot when he decides to use it. Like Buch he's not a burner, but he has pretty good edge work and can be slippery when he gets some open ice. He has very good vision and can create from behind the goal line.

The key difference is that Heinen is a very, very good defensive player. I think he's taken a hit this year but coming into the season he was posting some pretty eye popping underlying numbers. I can't recall exactly, but there was a Tweet that noted in 1000+ minutes teams had only scored 30 goals when on the ice against him. It was pretty impressive.

Heinen broke in with a really impressive rookie year. He and Backes seemed to play quite well together along with Riley Nash. Then Nash left and Backes fell off a cliff. Since then the Bruins have had this constant rotation of middle-six players and Heinen has caught the short end of it, IMO. The B's seem to be favoring Bjork and Debrusk in scoring roles and Heinen has been the "plugin" guy for Cassidy most of the year.

So while I don't see some "holy crap, we got a 60 point winger as a throw-in!" sort of pay out, I do think Heinen could turns some heads if you gave him consistent minutes with a high-end center like Zibanejad. Worst case, he's a great 3rd line player on a rebuilding team. Best case, he generates 50ish points and you decide whether he's better as a long-term investment or as a trade chip. Still pretty young and is signed for another year after this at a reasonable number.

Vegas is a perfect landing spot for Tony D.

That said, there's not alot there that is realistically available that I would move Tony for.

I’d consider:

DeAngelo
Georgiev

for

Tuch
Krebs
Elvenes

The Vegas prospect pool is too thin at the top to make that deal.

Thank you. I also see he’s signed for one more season. And is a RFA after next year. That’s a positive too.

What I’d want is not what they’re likely to want to give, because if I am trading ADA, I am asking for a lot.

Because the investment to get ADA to this point, and what he’s doing, does not come around very often.

Given where DeAngelo is right now, if the Rangers decide to listen, I'd be looking along the lines of a Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen type of trade.

Value for value. A trade that's going to hurt to make for both teams.

I have no interest in trading DeAngelo for 2-3 parts. In fact, I don't have a lot of interest in trading DeAngelo period.

Back to Georgiev and why if we decide to move him there's no need to necessarily hurry and do it by the deadline. Even if we don't play Alex another game and go with Igor and Henrik for the rest of this year we know what we have with Alex and other teams do too. He doesn't need to play necessarily at this point. If we can't get the right deal at the deadline we should kick moving him down the road into the summer if only because we'll be doubling the number of teams who might be interested in him. San Jose is probably not making the playoffs for instance and will be less likely to make a move for a goalie at the deadline but they'll need a goalie better than Jones or Dell next year and they're not the only ones. Minnesota or Columbus might be others or a Carolina if their goaltending turns out to be an achilles heel for them in the playoffs.

Players that intrigue me in a 1 for 1 swap for DeAngelo or Trouba:

Tomas Hertl
William Karlsson
William Nylander
Kyle Connor
Bo Horvat

I agree completely

I'd want GlassPlus and not the window cleaning fluid

At this point, I’m asking for Glass, I’m asking for Krebs, and I’m asking for a first. And even then I don’t know if it’s my first choice.

Even if you throw his projections for this season out the window, ADA has been a 50-60 point defenseman for almost a year now over his last 82 games — and that trend is not only maintaining, but trending slightly up.

I don’t want to bury G though. I think that if they do decide to go with King and Czar they should expedite- within reason- settling the Georgiev situation. But I do think there’s room for three- it just has to be handled delicately.

the other alternative is as @Edge said, maybe Hank rides off into the sunset. Personally I’d like him to stay though.

I'm with you on that, just do not see the Knights ponying up that sort of scratch

DeAngelo came to NY as a player who was labeled as a bit of a head case. It was said he was immature, and would be the rotten apple that spoils the rest of the bushel.

Fast forward a few seasons and I'm not so certain if there is a player in the room who earned his ice time more then Tony D.

Black and white to me. He needs to stay here. In fact, he's a guy the club should be looking to find a better partner to play with. You know what would have been interesting? Like a 24 yr old, 6'5 225 lb physical defenseman who can skate and who likes to stand up for his teammates. Like a Ryan Graves. Arghhhhh!

Happy for Graves. Not only did he get his chance. He's now on the Avs top pairing and his partner is Cale Makar.
