Did you expect to have rock solid depth less than 2 years into a rebuild?
Yes, that's exactly what I expected... along with winning a cup or any other egregious assumption you could come up with.

It's an observation. We have our young 'top6 talent' filling in the bottom6, along with scraps. There's no stabilization. There's no 'roles'. The only good bottom6 player, is playing with our best player.

It's par for the course it would seem.. The lineup is indicative to how the team plays, no structure. It needs to be addressed.

Anybody else hear the rumor of Georgiev to Toronto for Bracco and/or Timashov pls picks?

Having Chytil as a bottom6 center is not putting him in position to succeed. I'd move him to wing but a 3rd line Center is needed first.

Bonino is an obvious one.

Long-term, a guy like Cirelli would be amazing. Dont know what he's going to ask for contract wise and if TB would be able to afford it.

Faska is an upcoming RFA . Maybe another move forced by the cap?

That’s assuming there isn’t a player out there who could fill in that spot who’s available from a team with no cap space looking to make room as well
I don't have a great idea what these guys would command but just doing a quick look, Buchnevich would probably be cheaper to keep than just about every one of these guys, with the exception being Soderberg

Since a lot of you said I should lock her up long term with an NTC after the Rangers cake she made me, I figured I’d update on her development. Making a strong case to be the cornerstone of my franchise sometime in 2020.

Generally speaking, I think we lack both talent and grit.

We do not have enough talent, we are equally lacking gritty players.

Ada, Lemieux, Trouba and Smith are not nearly enough.

I dont view Kreider as a gritty player.

I personally think we need a Brayden Schenn type player in the top 9.

Would love to have either one of the Tkachuk brothers.

These guys that have a great balance of skill and sandpaper are hard to come by.

I do not believe that Kakko, Chytil, Lias, Howden or Kravtsov have it in them to play that type of game.

As @Edge mentioned there is a blend we need to achieve to be effective, but it has to be in you to play that way otherwise its going to be inconsistent and will make you an ineffective player.

Oh, and I truly believe a lot of you are going g to be disappointed with the return on any Georgiev trade.

More upset over the return of Talbot.

Chytil was fine when he wasn't stuck with Howden and Kakko.

If the trade is a player has been in the AHL for a couple years and yet to crack an NHL lineup plus a pick (unless that pick is a top 15 or so selection) they should not trade him.

There is no reason to move him at this point.

That return was never bad to begin with- we got a 2nd, 3rd, and a 7th. That’s good value for a goalie. How we used those picks was the issue.

Dont disagree, but the "expected" return was less than what alot of folks here were expecting.

If we get the same package, I'd be thrilled.

Zborovskiy and Huska were the two picks, with the other being traded

If Huska becomes a backup it's not a terrible trade

People were also disappointed because it was rumored Slats turned down a 1st from I think Florida? I don't remember
