I doubt Kreider gets 7 years from a team in a desirable location. If he wants to chase a contract, he might but I don’t he is that guy. You find me a top end team that’s going to be able to fit him in. Colorado might have room to fit him in now, but not for 7 years with the contracts they will have to hand out 2-3 years down the road. I would expect his agent knows the exact lay of the land.

Look where and for what Hayes and Zuccarello signed. I don’t think Kreider’s aspirations would be any different. I don’t thing he’d go Canadian (I could be wrong) but I absolutely won’t be surprised if he signs with any American team, current contender or not, even a playoff participant or not.

I'll see your statement and raise you.

I would move Skjei and Buch - in exchange for B tier futures. Additional by subtraction, and clear space.

Neither player is currently overpaid by any margin. Buch will most likely be traded sooner but hopefully in a package that offers more than just b-tier futures. We need wingers. And LH defensemen.

Which is why i believe Skjei will stay until the next wave of kids comes in under Lindgren and Hajek. We don't have a lot to work with right now on the left side.

At this point the expectation for whatever we get back for Lias is that it'll be a depth player for the Pack and not an NHL player if he's traded quickly.

They should let him finish the year under suspension playing in the SEL, or wherever, to build up a little more value and shop him next summer. Trading him any time before that makes little sense for the organization.

Lias is not the only young players having problems to establish himself in the NHL these days. There is a number of other players in the same situation drafted in the 2015-2017 drafts. We have a lot of other B/C prospects we can attache to get a player we want that are in a fairly similar situation as Lias.

10 oa 17; Owen Tippet in FLA, decent production the AHL, still not played an NHL game since his draft+1 year.
11 oa 17; Gabe Vilardi in LAK, having injury problems the last 2 years. Still not played an NHL game
22 oa 17; Kailer Yamamoto in EDM, not able to establish himself as an NHL player on EDM
24 oa 17: Kristian Vesalainen in WPG, kind of in the same boat as Lias
30 oa 17; Eeli Tolvanen in NSH, same situation as Lias. Had a lot of hype in his D+1. AHL production is down from last year.
31 oa 17; Klim Kostkin in STL. AHL production has not improved since his D+1 year. Still not a full time NHL player.
12 oa 16; Michael McLeod in NJD, in same situation as Lias.
19 oa 16; Kieffer Bellows in NYI, another 1. rounder with little progress in the AHL.
21 oa 16; Julien Gauthier in CAR. Not a full time NHL yet.
23 oa 16; Henrik Borgström in FLA. Was very hyped after NCAA career. Still not a full time NHL player, not to good stats in AHL.
30 oa 16; Max Jones in ANA. Looks like he is getting more playing time in the NHL this year.

Nils Lundkvist and Lias Andersson for Julian Gauthier and Jamieson Rees.

please?
Do not think they should be trading Lundkvist. He may not be fully ready for 2 more years. And by that time DeAngelo might be moved for a center because of the contract negotiations. Maybe they won’t want to pay him. Lundkvist looks like a helluva prospect. So no way I move him for another prospect. ONLY WAY I move him is for a legitimate center at this point. And i would wait to make that deal because I think his value only goes up

The scenario is entirely unrealistic. Lundkvist isn't getting moved. More video game trade scenarios.

Not a fan of Tolvanen for Andersson. If we're looking for a struggling Finn I'd prefer Vesalainen. He can bring some of the elements the Rangers will lose if/when they trade Kreider. Speed and size down the wing. Really good shot.

Tolvanen has a better shot, though he is small. I just wonder what the chances of trading with Winnipeg again are.

Completely agree with this. Lundkvist's value is likely to keep going up. Why trade him for cents on the dollar? I really don't see the rush to figure out the right defense situation. Rangers should let things play out organically. This is not the same as our current goaltender dilemma.

There is no goalie dilemma, its something created by teams wanting Georgiev as a back up. They will give Shesterkin time next year, with the promise of a starting spot the following year if he proves himself in those spots. People are really over exaggerating this goalie situation. Georgiev and Shesterkin will be here when Hank either accepts a trade or finishes his contract.

He definitely has the better shot, but thus far I haven't seen him translate much beyond that. Teams who have a history seem to link up again and again, so you never know.

How? Are you expecting the Rangers to carry 3 healthy goalies?

Would both Georgiev and Shesty be eligible for the expansion draft? I know people have gone over this before I forget the details on this.

Trade Georgiev, Shesty is ready. Comes into the AHL never playing in NA and is immediately lights out and idolizes Hank.

Georgiev + Kreider + Lias package ?

Listen on Lias if the offer is fair(not rock bottom at his current value) you trade him. I thought he had a decent camp and the case can be made about bias in regards to Brett BUT his rep was character and that has failed. How long do we have his rights? Did the need for top 6 minutes for Vitaly show the writing on the wall to Lias and this freakout move? Whatever.... in our mind we can say that Filip was the 7th pick and Lias the 21st. Sathers grip on the organization still reigns in the scouting department and needs a shakeup.

I'm expecting Shesterkin to get his cup of tea next year in the nhl and to take over the following year. They will no doubt tell him it's his net after Lundqvist is done, and imo if Hank wants to continue playing beyond this contract he is gonna have to accept a trade at the deadline.

Do you think Shesterkin will be okay making a 70k salary this year and a 70k salary next year? When he could probably make ten times that in the KHL?

Yeah it's absurd we have a great goalie prospect who would be almost 26 by the time he starts playing his first serious NHL minutes.

Wouldn't be good for Shesty or the org.
