I wonder how this LA situation going to impact the next move on Strome being traded/ retained now.
For better or worse, LA was probably going be put back into the line up depending on who comes back in trades.
This team needs centers..

Doubt it has much impact.

Chytil is still the guy they view for that second line spot, Howden is still a Quinn favorite.

I’m not sure Andersson really figured into their plans much anyway, which is part of the reason we’re here now.

Never figured into their plans with his current play. They used a 7th pick on him so I think he was definately in their plans. If he was waiting to be given a spot he played his hand wrong.

I'd take a 2020 2nd right now for lias. Lias was a whiff which happens. Would be willing to take another shot because Anderson isn't going to develop speed anytime soon.
Would like to send Anderson + a little for Ryan poehling. 6'3" center that can skate well which would be helpful. Howden and Anderson for poehling and a 3rd?

Yeeeeah, Gorts is gonna have no problem getting value for Kreider.

6 points in 7 leading into the Christmas break and that goal he scored just now in the first period of this afternoon’s game is exactly what other GMs want going into the POs.

Not saying he’ll return what top end rentals received five years ago, but he’ll bring back what Hayes did, and if we get lucky and a bidding war develops, perhaps a bit more.

Yeah, I hear you.
I'm wondering if they've been shopping LA at all.

I'm down with Chytil @ #2C.
I'm not very big on Howden and McKegg though.
I think Howden should be centering the 4th.

Do you think they move Strome..Hearing anything?

I agree with you here, Chytil's play is much better than his stat line and the sky is the limit for him. I like Howden but in your context as a 4th line center. You gotta hope Strome goes but Im not sure he goes at the deadline unless the offer is very good. Rangers need to make some moves to bring in depth at the wings, you cant start trading Krieder, Strome, Fast, and Andersson without having guys to take their spots. I hope Fast stays were gonna need to expose someone in the expansion draft.

I would like to see Gorton turn some of our defensive prospects into forward prospects.

Carolina has a pretty decent prospect pool and can make a move.
I believe the Rangers liked Gauthier. He has size, can skate and shoot, not much playmaking but I see him being able to be a good 3rd liner.

Boston you have Fredric and Lauko, Fredric would also make for a nice 4th line center, dont see much upside but can add some grit which we need and a north-south style of play

Colorado has Jost hes a guy that can move up and down lines, hasnt lived up to the draft position, another guy who hasnt and is talked about alot here is Bennett. I wouldn't mind adding either of these guys but costs will be important as they arent must have players. Ideally both are 3rd liners that can move up if needed.

Andersson will continue to be part of the conversation. Though I suspect the strategy might be to try and get them to make a move sooner, rather than waiting.

Strome is probably an off-season move if it happens.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind any of those guys and agree on Fast.
I think the wheels have been spinning on Bennett for a while now as his name has come up quite a bit, at least on here.
The one I really wanted was Ferland (who's hurt now) would've been a great addition IMO

Kieffer Bellows wouldn’t be a bad target in a Lias trade IMO. Could of course be problematic to get something done with NYI, but...
