For starters, Quinn needs to stop changing lines every freakin game. Keep the lines together for a while. He doesn't let players develop chemistry. That would help the young players a lot. I'm not crying about Andersson wanting out. Fox only wanted to play here and nobody is trashing him in our fan base. Besides, with picks of Pajuniemi and Barron late, you make up from some first round screw ups. I'm not sure what the heck the scouts were looking at with his skating. I remember one shift where Lemieux and him were going after a puck in center ice and Lemieux made him look like he was a poor skating college player. Mind boggling.

Also regarding the goaltending, this team is arguably the best in the league when it comes to evaluating goaltending, and has the best goalie coach in the league. I’d be shocked if Henrik is not brought into the front office as an hockey ops advisor once he retires.

Hockey ops advisor?

Henrik Lundqvist is an empire onto himself. Not sure hockey ops advisor fits into his plans. More likely he lives 1/2 the year in Sweden, partners with Tesla on a new sports car, opens up restaurants with Roger Federer, and creates his own music label.

CBJ is a team that tics a few boxes regarding for Andersson.

First of all, with Torts style center speed is much less important. Why? You can basically play the transition game two ways. Either you stretch the defending team out by sending up forwards high and holding on to the puck. This opens up for the center to skate with the puck. Or you move it fast up ice before the defense can set up, or keep the puck along the boards until you get out of danger. Torts is certainly the later. The center becomes much more of a battering ram in Torts system. Or a balance player.

Second, CBJ have big problems keeping players. If they gave Andersson a second chance I think he would be loyal to them forever.

Three, they are rebuilding.

Downside is that they don’t necessarily have an opening at center.

Good call, Ola. Very realistic destination.

Not sure it really matters in regards to an 'opening' - as Lias would have healthy competition regardless for any roster. He's not walking into a clear spot anywhere.

Sportsnet CA - Allaire recently told Micheletti that Huska will be a #1.

It may play a factor in moving Georgiev if the return is high

Leafs would be interested w Kreider , if they can get Kapanen , Gauthier , picks ?

Hank can mentor Shestyorkin and they still have a few good young G in CT

I've been saying this ad naseum for nearly 2 decades....this is not a Quinn specialty....we know Renney was a master at it.....AV must have studied him religiously before taking the NY job.

What's more annoying though is the fact that when a line does look good together and produces, you can bet the ranch that the line will be dismantled -- usually within a few shifts.

And Wall, from watching him play, has a good shot to be at least a quality backup/journeyman starter. IMO ofcourse.

That may be, but let's remember that every organization has a handful of guys that fit that description. Even if Wall were to fulfill that description, he would need the opportunity to do so.

Timing and opportunity is everything for all these guys, right?

Even more likely, a 'quality backup' may have a couple seasons of 'quality' level player, but another few subpar. That's how most fringe careers goes.

Remember when people called Alex Nylander a bust and said he had no value, and then he was traded for a top D prospect in Jokiharju?
I think Lias might have more value than what people think

I don't recall this in the Nylander situation, but I don't think he ever walked out on the team.

Nylander - Jokiharju was a "my problem for yours" swap IIRC. Didn't Jokiharju do a Puljujärvi/Honka?

I believe the return for Anderson will be something like Milano and marko dano from Columbus or maybe Gabe vilardi from LA. There will not be any sure fire prospect or player sent taken back. There will be just as many question marks with the player(s) traded for.
Maybe the Rangers should consider a vet on his last year on a cash strapped contender and a high draft pick.

I would not rule out packaging DeAngelo with Andersson and whatever it takes to get Tuch. Bring Keane up. I have wanted Tuch here for years. He's perfect for this team. His size, speed. Can play with your top players. Vegas needs a righty puck moving defenseman and a PP QB in the worst way.

Keane is not ready. At least a year away, assuming if ever.

He could have. He may be really good in the NHL someday, but it isn't yet. If we have been talking about mishandling prospects in other threads, bringing him up now would be exactly that.

I think the difference though between Alex Nylander and Lias Andersson is Nylander projected to have a higher skill set/ceiling compared to Andersson.
