Seems like Rangers over the last few years literally can't get young players. Other teams won't trade with them. We have to trade with teams that have guys with NMCs already so they can say NY or nowhere. Thats my conspiracy of the day.
Which young players have we tried to trade for?

he has but the team hasn't really improved much if at all.
General consensus seems to be that the goal is to regroup next year and come back with something better. Just about ever NYR writer said th same thing after JT Miller- this wasn't a win today move, it was a restructure the core for the next 3 years move.

Kreider, Panarin, K Miller, ZIbanejad are all huge decisions yet to be made.

You could see something around Laf+ for Tkachuk
You could see Panarin dealt in a decontrustive Gaborik-style deal for depth

There's a lot on the table. There's only two things I'm 100% on.

1) Fox is staying (Time wasting hfNYR Jackasses)
2) Shesterkin is staying (It would be a NHL history scandal to trade a guy before his new record setting contract kicked in)

Beyond that, it's shaping up to be a big offseason.

Also- pretty reasonable for Vaak. Still think he's a #7 on a top team, but that's a fine price for a #6/#7

The only dumb move is holding onto Kreider when trade prices are ridiculous.

This is a sellers market. We arent winning a cup.

Trade him and his crap attitude.

Hard to trade a guy when other teams dont like the medicals. And trust me I've been banging the "trade Kreider" drum like Bonham for months.

No they dont. Sure it goves some teams a marginal advantsge, but we have an advantwge of being in Ny. Toronto always gets good players.

Really on a few teams get really screwed by this, and those are teams that have high tax and is not a good city to play in.

Also, if u really think about it, it could end up saving those teams from bad contracts sometimes.

Its a non issue in the name of “fairness” which can never be achieved

It's more than a marginal advantage.

Those contracts add up.

thats true.

But our other alternative is lav trying to play him with Zib. We are stuck between a rock and a dumb coach

If kreider is willing to play the cycle game he's been effective at in the past, I dont mind him playing with parssinen and othmann/berard 5v5

Rangers having a quiet deadline is fine by me. Use the rest of the season for more evaluating, do more surgery in the summer if needed.

I said it a day or two ago, I thought we were down with big moves until the summer unless some Kreider deal materialized (which seems unlikely given his health).
