If kreider is willing to play the cycle game he's been effective at in the past, I dont mind him playing with parssinen and othmann/berard 5v5

We havent seen that cycle game in over 5 years. His game is now stand in front of net. Or skate fast up the wing and shoot.

That's a good deal because it's 2 years locked in. My guess is that Drury offered this to Vaak and said if you won't take a 2 year deal, we will look to trade you. With him signing, that signals Jones is gone to me.

Everyone with a brain knew he was playing above the 3rd pairing. Whether Laviolette is willing to break up Miller-Borgen remains to be seen. But Soucy is your top-4 LD the next season or more.

I think with Soucy they need more LHD depth and now that Vaak is signed hopefully Soucy has a good year next year and you can flip him next deadline or even this summer and hes cost controlled.

A lot of teams were in on him, despite his suckage.

Fox will be back before the playoffs, but regardless that doesn’t change the rangers intent which is for Soucy to be on the 1st or 2nd pairing. That’s pretty obvious at this point.

maybe the idea is to put Schneider with Fox and have the 3rd pair be Soucy-Vaak? multiple players on their wrong side but we know Schneider is fine on the left and i heard Soucy can play on the right?

He only has 1 more year and is 30 already. Im not convinced he will be here past next years TD

Really like the Vaakanainan deal at $1.55M. He and Schneider have been solid.

Hear me out... what if we deploy Miller + Borgen against opposing top lines, and give Fox 2nd pairing minutes + PP. He would be way fresher and feast on lower competition.

With Schneider, Soucy, Vaak, Borgen, Miller we now have plenty of d-men that can play hard and kill penalties... keeping Fox's minutes down and saving him for offensive zone situations.
