Why? It was a clean hit you see a million times a season? Shatty just took it weird. I had no issues with the hit.

Retaliation for a clean hit? What are we, savages? It's the dumbest thing ever. Even worse than staged fighting. Retaliation for clean hits should be an automatic 1-game suspension

It was a 1000% clean hit

I never once said it was a dirty hit. I said Shattenkirk was vulnerable there. JT had one thing in mind and that was to line him up with a hard hit. Sure it was clean. But he made sure he stuck him damn good. The Lightning continued to take runs in that game after that. Pionk was getting abused at one point. Its not about “retaliation” by any means. Its about seeing your TEAMMATE get hit hard and then in distress and not doing a damn thing about it to ahow that unity as a group. Quite honestly, forget fighting, the team stopped hitting in periods 2 and 3. They went completely soft. They took the game to the Lightning in the 1st getting physical with them and it made them uncomfortable. Lightning pushed back and they crawled up into a ball. Go drive Miller into the boards. Cirelli. Hit them back and stand up for yourselves.

Add Panarin to that group and it gets complicated. Not to mention buchnevich.
Yep, they'll have to go 7-3-1. I'm assuming it will be something like:

Panarin
Zibanejad
Kreider
Chytil
Andersson
Howden
Buchnevich

Skjei
Hajek
Pionk/Tony D

Goalie

Of course it's WAY too early to even speculate about this really. So much can and will change by then.

there's a forward on that list that I have a feeling we won't be worrying about protecting in a couple years but i'll save that one for another time.....

the other one is skjei even if he turns it around and I think he will. in two years he's not going to be an untouchable not with the guys we have coming behind him.

Skjei was the first one on that list that jumped out at me.

This is like, literally the definition of retaliation. That you preface it with 'it's not about retaliation' is kinda hilarious.
This is hockey. I don't look it as retaliation in the sense of an 'eye for an eye'. I am not expecting someone to go hurt Miller. That is retaliation. But go out there and challenge him for your teammate. Go bang bodies. Hit them back. They did none of that. They laid down and died in that game.

I would start Zucc on the 4th line. He hasn't played in a while. He needs to show he has the right attitude and is in shape to work his way up the lineup. It is pretty disrespectful to start him on the 1st line. Will he even have the stamina to play that much? This seems like Quinn is just setting him up to fail so he can tell the media after the game that he isn't in good shape.

Never mind.

And he must have adopted a better attitude!

I think it was more a reaction on what he may think is lack of respect. But he should be happy now with top line duty.

He did say it will be very sad if a trade happens. He will be a Ranger for life no matter what. This is where his heart is, and where it always will be.

Fans hearing this will make it very tough for Gorton..

Yes, he's on the verge of having a riot on his hands.

Perhaps the Rangers need to send out an official preemptive letter which includes respect restoring accolades in order to avoid the inevitable social unrest.

Exactly how so?
First comes the "We Want Zucc" chants (which Sam clarifies aren't We Want Boo chants), signs saying "Zuccarello, you're my everything"

Then someone takes out a full page ad in the NY Times outlining why the way the Rangers are treating Zuccarello is disgusting.

Then billboards all over town demanding Gorton lose his job over this.

Then the angry militized mob storms MSG.

13. Boston’s been linked to Coyle. If he’s not the guy, wonder if someone like Jeff Carter would fit the Bruins.

14. They’ve also been linked to Kevin Hayes but will have competition.

Another possibility for the Ranger centre? Colorado. He’s exactly what they need.

15. There were rumblings that Buffalo, with four first-round picks in the next two years, might look at a

rental to boost its chances. Looked into it, heard otherwise. Maybe for a younger player under team

control for awhile, but not for a rental.
