What would you guys say the odds we get Panarin are?

I'd say pretty high. Not as high as I thought they were for Brad Richards (which was basically 100%), but it seems that us and CHI are the front runners, and I think we're a more attractive destination for him and can accommodate the $$ he wants

How the hell is Chicago paying him

If you think so it's fine with me, I don't care.

But if you move outside hfboards and into other social media you'll get a very different view on fans reaction to a possible trade.
Why is it apparently outside of your grasp that fans can absolutely love Zuccarello and hate to see him traded but will understand and get over it?

Brian Leetch was traded. Adam Graves was traded. Eddie Giacomin, Brad Park, Jean Ratelle all traded. Even recent years, Callahan and McDonagh, back to back captains and fan favorite players were traded. Girardi was a fan favorite and he was bought out.

Zuccarello is a fan favorite but we're fans of the team first and foremost.

I'll believe Fox signs with the Canes when I see it

What else is he supposed to say to a beat reporter for Carolina? "Oh yeah my plan is to go back for my senior year and get my pick of where to play next summer"

Of course not. Vesey said the same shit during his time with Nashville

He says he wants to play in the NHL as quickly as possible, but the Flames rolled out the red carpet to get him signed this past summer and put him in the lineup immediately and he said no thanks. So what am I missing here

That said the Rangers should trade for him. He's someone they should be targeting in a Hayes deal

It's always possible he didn't want to play in Canada but now he got traded to an East Coast franchise in the US that he'd be more likely to sign.

It's possible but I personally ain't buying it

Usually when there's smoke, there is fire with this stuff.

Going from Calgary to Carolina ain't much of an upgrade to me lol. They also have a ton of D prospects and good RD blocking him.

I agree, Hayes to the Canes works. My only fear is the Canes fall out of contention in which case they won't become buyers. Smart move would be to make it happen sooner rather then later. Fox and a 1st rounder, with a cap dump but I don't think the Canes really have a camp dump player.

Looking at Cap friendly for some possible destinations for Zucc.

Zucc to Wpg for Adam Lowry and a Pick. <--Team full of giants could use a pint-size play-making winger.
Zucc to the Avs for Mark Barbiero (IR) and one of the 2 Avs first rounders.
Zucc to Edmonton for Zach Kassian and Edm 1st rounder.
Zucc to Buffalo for Matt Moulson, and one of the Buffalo 1st rounders, and a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Panarin wants to play in NY, I think chances are good but can't be quantified, personally... have him spend a week in Bensonhurst...

Has there been legitimate smoke to Fox not wanting to sign in Carolina?

Why are we taking moulson or Kassian back, especially Kassian who has been somewhat of an off ice problem since he got drafted. I'd rather take Talbot and a first back and let Allaire build him back up again.

just put 76 and 77 back together

that top 9 i can live with

pionky on the 3rd pair is where he should be

staal having his nails done ?

Actually don't mind those D pairings. McQuaid being there should relax Skjei a bit--make him play a little smarter.

If this is the best four defensemen we have available to protect two years from now, we are in deep ****.
I mean I agree, but I was going off the assumption that these guys grow a LOT, in which case they would still be ours and need protection

Hopefully some combination of Miller, Lundkvist, Rykov, Keane and whomever else we draft between now and then will be among our 4 best. None of them will need to be protected. If that happens, it's likely that at least one of Skjei, Pionk, ADA and Hajek will be gone.

That was pretty much my point

Social media is a cesspool where the **** rises to the top. It's indicative of nothing.

If the fanbase was that upset, they'd be chanting for Gorton's head during home games.

Couple that with the fact that half the regular-attending at the garden don't even know who the GM is....

Somewhere between 33.3%.

Thinking Chicago, Columbus or NYR on this one.
Jackets have 0 chance to resign him from all the reports/rumors, he’s already had requested a trade
I’d say us and the Hawks have a 45% chance and 10% to the field
