I see him cutting onto his forehand streaking down the right side as a bigger advantage that having to cut across on his backhand.
Certainly could be. Although, I think the trade-off there is that it's easier to explode down the wing and beat a guy to the outside and then cut in towards the net when you have it on your forehand. If you're carrying the puck on your backhand it's not as easy to get to the point where you're actually beating the defender.

Who knows. Like I said, some guys can do it, some guys really struggle.

No I completely see your point, as someone who played hockey pretty competitively his whole life I know for me it was easy to play either side. But your right some players just can not do it. An 18 year old laf has plenty of time to be successful on his off wing without giving up any production. Hell panarin is who he should be looking up to, he’s someone who plays on his off wing.

Sergachev would be great but I'd be really shocked if he was available. Again, the Bolts can clear cap by moving Killorn, Palat, or Johnson. It's not like they have anchors that nobody is going to want.

They have to agree to be moved. Palat and Johnson have full No Trades and I think Killorn's covers most of the league as well.

I don't really foresee anyone beating down Tampa's door to get Alex Killorn. Bottom feeders may be interested in him, but I don't think he'd be interested in them.

We have three D protection slots, unless we sacrifice F protection slots. Trouba, ADA and Lindgren seem to be the consensus (I would hope) for those slots. If we were to add a 1LD, and aren't subtracting ADA, then we would likely have to expose the 1LD we just spent assets to acquire, or Lindgren. So even if we could add a top-4 LD without selling the farm (unlikely), we're likely to lose another and be back where we started.

Well id assume getting a LD would relate to an ADA trade wouldnt it?

I still cannot believe we are drafting Lafreniere in 2-3 months.

Draft is in October which is less than 2 months

I’d really like to revamp the center position for next season. Buy a little more time for another center to develop.

I’d like to find a way to pry the Buffalo 8th overall pick with some of the assets we have. I think you can obtain with a package that starts with Strome. I just keep thinking this is a desperate team that wants to make Eichel happy. Drafting a center/forward at 8 overall that might not have a full impact for 2-3 years is a long time to wait with Eichel already unhappy right now. Strome + Lias + Hajek for the 8th. Draft Lundell.

Target Cirelli/Monahan/Nylander. Anything less doesn’t really cut it for me. They need a 2nd line level center. Georgiev, Chytil, the late 1st, can be some of the main pieces that go the other way. Howden also should be on the table as an additional piece. Might have to swap Chytil with Buch both for current value and salary purposes.

Sign Thornton for 3C, 1 year deal.

Sign Boyle for 4C, 1 year deal

Sign Clifford for 4th line wing, 2-3 year deal.

Kreider-Zib-Buch
Panarin-Monahan-Kakko
Lafreniere-Thornton-Gauthier
Lemmy-Boyle-Clifford
DiGi

So thats us moving out Strome, Chytil, and Howden. Not re-signing Fast. And no I am not just throwing Chytil away, I think he still has so much potential, but they need to give to get. I would love to bring Fast back but they need to get even tougher to play against, Clifford brings that and protection.

They would still have Barron, Kravtsov, Henriksson, Lundell*, all coming in the next 1-3 years.

See above

Patience everyone...rome wasnt built in a day, we aren't ready to turn a corner until Lundqvist, Staal and Smith are all gone and Kravtsov, Barron, Miller, Lafrenierre have a year under their belt. No need to add not contract controlled players right now.

Yes to all

Love Buchnevich but it feels like he's been ready to explode offensively for a while. Was supposed to be this season and he did get better, but the end results were basically the same as year's past.

He has an affordable year left on his deal. Even if he goes for ~48 points over 82 games, he's a RFA. I think his value won't be much different next off-season.

If he does explode for a ton of points, they have an asset on their hands that they can move for a pressing need or look to lock into another deal.

Top 6 wingers don't grow on trees and I feel he will be undervalued by a lot of teams in trades. Need to find a comparable player at center or a left handed D from a team that needs a winger.

Also, you'd have a lot of inexperienced players on the right side. Without re-signing Fast, you'd have Kakko, Kravtsov, and Gauthier. I'm sure they would bring someone in, but that is a lot of talent, but ends up being 83 games of NHL experience between the three on tha side, and one of them would be relied upon to be on the top line. Maybe get your center for Buch, move Strome to RW to not overexpose the young guys?

I'm sure they can find suitors that line up. NTC's rarely become a major obstacle.

Nobody has to be beating down their door but I think more than a couple of teams would be interested in a guy who brings what he does. Especially when there's cost certainty on his current deal. Teams are always looking to add north-south players who can score goals.

I think with Buchnevich all those hand injuries robbed him of his shot, so he's never going to be the scorer we thought he would be. His shot stinks now, and his ceiling is now 2nd line wing who is a jack of all trades master of none.

I think expectations were too high for him to begin with, i think this is actually him playing above what should have been expected of him.

i will say this about next season, Kravtsov should get a real shot on with good players this year or we risk sending him back to russia. Maybe he takes Kakko's spot on line 3? As im writing this im realizing that if Kravtsov and Lafrenierre are on this team, we are saying goodbye to Fast. My guess for next season. Also...i love this lineup.

Kreider zib Buch
Panarin Strome Kakko
Lafrenierre Chytil Kravtsov
Lemieux Howden Barron

Huh? Talbot has been great.
Calgary needs to trade Gaudreau for a bigger winger.
Tough to say with Talbot. I know he's having a good playoffs. The last time however that he was good in a regular starting capacity was 2016-2017. Otherwise he has been mediocre to bad. I think he's ideally a backup.

He needs to earn it. The Rangers shouldn’t feel pressured by the fact he may again take his ball and go home if he isn’t on the opening night roster.

I’m real interested in what happens with him this summer. I believe either @Edge or @bobbop mentioned that they wouldn’t be shocked if he’s moved.
