i will say this about next season, Kravtsov should get a real shot on with good players this year or we risk sending him back to russia. Maybe he takes Kakko's spot on line 3? As im writing this im realizing that if Kravtsov and Lafrenierre are on this team, we are saying goodbye to Fast. My guess for next season. Also...i love this lineup.

Kreider zib Buch
Panarin Strome Kakko
Lafrenierre Chytil Kravtsov
Lemieux Howden Barron

how about this:
Lafreniere. Zibby. Kakko
Panarin. Strome. Fast.
Kreider. Chityl. Buch.
Lemieux. Howden. Barron

He needs to earn it. The Rangers shouldn’t feel pressured by the fact he may again take his ball and go home if he isn’t on the opening night roster.

I’m real interested in what happens with him this summer. I believe either @Edge or @bobbop mentioned that they wouldn’t be shocked if he’s moved.
Not me on both counts. I think he learned his lesson and won't be a flight risk. I also think the Rangers will be patient with his development. I expect he will be in New York sometime this year. The only way I trade him is if someone overwhelms me or offers a significant value for value at a priority position.

Some players need to be put in good situations to shine, we drafted him as a skilled player, he should get a chance to show his talents with good players. He may never show us anything playing with Fogarty and Letteri.

Thats good to hear, thanks.

I would not be inclined to actively pursue a trade of Kravtsov, but if someone really wanted him--either standalone (unlikely) or as part of a larger deal--I would definitely consider it. While I appreciate that he came back and worked hard in Hartford, I'm not sold he's 100% on board with making the necessary adjustments to be successful here.

I would definitely expect the Rangers to listen if someone asked.

I wonder if Calgary will shake things up a bit if they get bounced by the Stars. Losing Tkachuk was a big blow but there's enough talent in that forward group that they should've been able to pick up the slack. That core group has been around for 5+ years, they made the big Hamilton deal and yet they're looking at another first round knock out.

As Hank Hill would say; "There's something wrong with that boy(s)"

I have a feeling he may click with Zibby who is more of a shooter.

Shift Laf to C, move Zib to RW, move Buchnevich down to 2C, Strome 3RW, and Chytil up to 2RW until Kravtsov is ready then when he comes up move Strome back to 2C, Buchnevich and Kravtsov alternate between 1LW and 2RW each game, Chytil back to the 3rd as a RW/C hybrid.

I think it could work.

Laf with Zib would be the ideal combo.

Laf with Chytil works too. Chytil is a pretty good shooter and hes yet to play with anyone who can get him the puck in prime areas on the regular.

Wouldn't shock me at all to see fil post a 25-20 season next year.

I will gladly take Lindholm off their hands.

Thats been the problem with Chytil. He never gets to prime areas/soft spots. Why I do not think he'd work with Panarin.

He's great with the carrying the puck... without the puck he'd typically suffocate the puck carrier. Kreider Chytil Buch is the line if we're looking to keep him at C

The Oilers need wingers and depth scoring. The Rangers need LD. Nurse or Klefbom.

Buchnevich being an effective top-6, young winger isn’t a secret around the league. To a team like the Oilers who need cost controlled players to play with either McDavid or Draisatl moving forward he’s ideal. There were rumors of them being close on a deal for their 1st rounder last year.

Re-sign Fast.

Calgary is playing Lindholm at wing because of their center depth. As we all know Wings don’t have the same value as centers. If they get bounced early and considering their issues on defense, I could see an ADA for Lindholm trade as a base. Probably with Calgary adding.

All of a sudden the team has added very little overall cap hit has re-allocated talent to where they needed it.

Panarin-Lindholm-Strome
Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
Lafreniere-Chyti-Fast
Lemieux-Howden-Gauthier

Klefbom-Trouba
Lindgren-Fox
Hajek-______
Smith

Just find a RD on a 1-2 year deal

I really like and hope for those lines Especially the 3rd line
Let those guys marinate on 3rd line minutes and be patient with them.

The only problem is eventually you csnt have Laf on 3rd line if hes showing he definitely deserves top 6 minutes
Then what do you do with kreider beside move him to RW
Then you gotta move Buch unless VK doesnt pan out
Hope to God he plans out

I feel down the road Kreider is on the right side and Buch prices himself out of town.
