A second order effect of this trade is the Blues have lost Tarasenko and now Steen to injuries, and have traded Fabbri. They’ve largely replaced those minutes with checkers MacEachern, Blais and now de la Rose. Their scoring ability is going to take a hit. For defending Stanley Cup champs, they can’t afford to wait until TDL to pick up someone like Kreider.
Yeah but I don't know what they have that I would want. I don't think Thomas is on the table and given the lack of talent in their overall prospect pool I don't know think Kyrou or Bokk would be on the table either.

*Edit forgot Bokk was traded to Carolina.

I said he is "currently torching" a pro league. Unless he is currently 18 years old I'm not sure what his results 3 years ago have anything to do with my statement. He's playing well in that league now. That's a good thing. If he wasn't it would be a major issue. Would Lias be producing at such a high levels in Sweden? Maybe, maybe not.

So Puljujarvi is "currently torching" a pro league playing in Liiga while Lias who is in the NHL isn't,. Yeah, because that's a totally fair comparison of course.

We should just sign Donát Szita who has more points in a pro league than Lias this season

Bokk is Carolina property now. I forgot that trade even happened before I saw Bokk's name here.

I like Thomas, Kyrou but also Kostin. Quinn would probably like someone like Nolan Stevens. They have their 1st as well. They traded Bokk to Carolina for Faulk.

Agree, Kreider is one of several guys available but getting him early would benefit STL and they can sell him on the .org perhaps. What would be a fair trade with resigning conditions included?

Completely forgot about that.

I like Thomas and Kyrou too, but I don't think they are available. I also don't know that JG is going to be looking for a 1st for Kreider as much as a prospect who already has some development under way. I'm not super impressed with Kostin.

I would imagine Kyrou and Kostin would be of high interest to the Rangers. Though I'd be surprised to see Kreider fetch either of them. Both are very good prospects.

Sell Fast, Strome, Krieder for assets. Dump Staal and Smith with extreme prejudice. See if Hank wants a shot at the cup. Acquire Poolparty, Sign Nosek:

Bread Zibs Buch
Nosek Chytil Kakko
Krav Howton Poolparty
Lemmy Lias Keg/Nieves

Hajek Trouba
Skjei ADA
Lindy/Rykov Fox

Shesty/Georgie

Fits 3.5 mil or so under cap, much more if the Hank thing happens even with the nutty 13.8 mil in dead money. I admit I didn’t consider exp draft, maybe we pay Seattle to take someone suitable.

Are you going to keep changing the topic? I didn’t even say anything bad about Lias. In fact I said I’d like to see him given a chance in a bigger role. Yes Puljujarvi is currently doing very well in Liiga. That is undoubtedly a good thing. Maybe Lias would too we have no idea since he isn’t actually there.

Maybe instead of trying to roster the best team we should just roster a team of your favorite players that you follow around so you can have fun watching them.

Too much, too soon

Imagine if Strome actually ends up finishing the season with 80 points.

The Stepan return, 7OA pick in 2020 and a prospect like TDA who instantly becomes a top 2-3 performer for us on a nightly basis. Book it.

I think part of that return was conditioned on Stepan being locked down to term. We and Arizona exploited that and his expiring lack of trade protections. Strome will be a pending RFA and could hold out if traded to a team he doesn't want to play for, believes he is getting underpaid, etc. I think the return would reflect that. I don't think he would fetch a top ten pick no matter how well he performed this season.

He would be subject to waivers. Would never make it to Hartford unless it was a conditioning assignment.

ah good catch...so make that 4th line instead of hartford with the same outrage and hot takes LOL
