And, he goes bye-bye in 1 more season at most.Brendan Smith has been good in his role, his contract sucks but he is making the most of his ice time imo.

He played w him on the pp though. If you're isolating the time that you're analyzing to even strength then I think you'll struggle to find productive linemates with mcd besides LD because the oiler offense suffered when relying on anything other than those two together. That's still much the case now. Regardless I believe JP still holds that shiney new toy affect for many teams despite what he's done in NA.Yes it is true. Chiassons results with McDavid are atrocious. Look it up on NST in the teammates tab I can’t get them right now. (*3 goals 5 assists in 310 mins) Many of his goals were on the PP. He scored something like 1.2 pts/60 with him, the line had a terrible CF%, and scored less in general.
Still too early for thisKinda worried we are winning too much. And on the backs of the vets, not the kids. Panarin, yes, it’s great he’s scoring. Strome? Eh. I guess it’s good for turning him into a trade deadline asset.
But one more top pick of our own would really be good.

The Rangers are on an 88 point pace. They will get better closer to the playoffs.

I agree and ultimately the kids are gonna have a lot to do regarding how this team performs after 82 games. This is the youngest team in the league so it's almost a given that they will have a hand in this team playing well... or poorly.Disagree. Fox, Chytil, Buchnevich and DeAngelo have been great over the last few games.
Which is not much different from how most of us viewed it going into the season. One key player (Kreider) who must be moved. A couple of fringe guys (Namestnikov and Vesey) who are already gone. And then, a couple of on the fence guys (Fast, Strome) who may come back or might be dealt depending on offers and their own asking prices. Play the kids, finish as high as they can carry you, and then trust to the lottery again (presuming you miss the playoffs). Pretty straightforward.I think everyone who is anticipating a deadline sell off and another lottery finish may want to step back off the ledge. Let’s see what happens over the next 50 games. Kreider has to be resolved but that is the only sure thing I am seeing right now. Everyone else may stay.

What’s more interesting to me is if there are any hockey trades to be made. Getting to the point where they start to make sense...
Kreider and Fast are tied in points, Fast has a game in hand.
Smith and Howden are tied in points.
McKegg and Haley are tied in points with Andersson.

Agreed.
If Kreider is to be moved, I’d like that to be a hockey trade for a young player or players. Skeji could be moved in a hockey trade. We’ve got enough youth and future draft choices. I’d love to see some good young forwards come back.
