He is the epitome of country club rangers.Kreider is the only one of the older guys I'd look to hold on to, but if he's going to throw a temper tantrum over Trouba being put out to pasture, he can get lost too.
Yep. CEOs, captains of industry take hearty packages to quit, get fired, leave all the time.I mean, at least parts of what she said is true. It probably won't play well in the room, and may lead to players wanting out. That being said, if a consequence is more of the so called "leadership group" looking to leave, it's a double win.
The suggestion that waiving your captain when he's playing like ass is somehow immoral, is poppycock.
he still was a ppg last season and scored 17 goals in 71 games or whatever. Should have been a Norris finalist again if he didnt miss time.Fox has been on a decline since his Norris. Doesn't consistently play at a high level like he used to.
I'm not sure fox is driving play at an elite level at 5v5, the same Mika does not. They both are pp cookie monsters...One is a defenseman who drives play at an elite level and one is a center who is a PP merchant who doesn’t. How are they even comparable
Thanks for showing up today Moll
Do you guys think Drury brought Rempe into the room for protection when he had his one on one with Trouba telling him to pack his bags?
Zibanejad is a forward, not a defenceman. And his underlying play has been pedestrian for a good couple of years now.Zibanejad still puts up 70-80 points per year, is he worth his contract?
It sends a message that poor play isn't going to be tolerated and that unless you have an iron clad blood oath contract like Zibanejad, no one's job is safe. Not for nothing, but I hope Tuba isn't being waived. This team is a train wreck right now. At this point does removing Tuba suddenly fix all their problems? I don't want to see any rash knee jerk responses to salvage this roster right now. It seems like a major waste of a possible asset just to try to save the season if that's the case. If the reports coming in from early in the season that over half the teams in the league had interest in Tuba then why waste this opportunity. Wait till the deadline so more teams will have cap space or the summer where it really opens up. Let them sink or swim the rest of the season, don't waste an asset
great, cause even more congestion on the Merritt smhTrouba and rempe passing each other tomorrow for assignment and recallView attachment 940825
This has been actively developing behind the curtains for almost 2 weeks, but this started on the spring. It is just out now bc the team fell on its faceDrury is not f***ing around on this lovely Friday morning

Can't waive Mika. NMC.So can we waive Mika and see if someone picks him up? If he passes through just have him come back to MSG? That should help with his mental state![]()
Or maybe it speeds up his development. Give the children a chance and change the risk-averse culture.I will say this - as someone very much on the "get rid of Trouba" train, I don't think replacing him with Mancini is good. Mancini needs a year in the AHL. Playing him at the NHL level right now is not ideal and would actually be worse than Trouba, IMO.
This isn't true. You don't have a wait for the deal to be done before asking a player to waive. You don't ask them to waive unless there is a deal on paper and done. Look at markstrom last season in Calgary.
I told you all this was coming last weekend...
I feel the same way, should just let Ruhwedel eat the minutes. But maybe Drury is willing to take a bath on this season and sees it as a transition season at this point. I doubt it but I agree, wouldn’t have called up Mancini.I will say this - as someone very much on the "get rid of Trouba" train, I don't think replacing him with Mancini is good.
