I will say this - as someone very much on the "get rid of Trouba" train, I don't think replacing him with Mancini is good. Mancini needs a year in the AHL. Playing him at the NHL level right now is not ideal and would actually be worse than Trouba, IMO.
He may end up back in Hartford if the trade is completed and nyr gets a d back.

This isn't true. You don't have a wait for the deal to be done before asking a player to waive.
I'm not saying you have to, I'm saying common practice is that players and agents don't want you to ask them to waive unless you have a deal in place for them to consider. This was well documented with how Calgary mishandled the markstrom trade talk last season.

I feel the same way, should just let Ruhwedel eat the minutes. But maybe Drury is willing to take a bath on this season and sees it as a transition season at this point. I doubt it but I agree, wouldn’t have called up Mancini.
It's simple. Stick Ruhwadel with Lindgren and play Jones-Schneider as the 2nd pair. They'll be fine.

yeah. this is only good if we use the cap space to get a defenseman who is actually good. i doubt it though and i bet any Trouba trade has 50% retention. plus, Lindgren is still in the lineup.

It sends a message that poor play isn't going to be tolerated and that unless you have an iron clad blood oath contract like Zibanejad, no one's job is safe.

Pandering is only going to breed complacency.
Sure, I like that aspect. The cap space is nice... but at this point is this the group that's going to get us over the hump? It seems like they're going to start transitioning toward other players. So what's the point in sending a message to players that you're ultimately going to trade away anyway. I'd rather use him as a trade asset than send some sort of a message.

There may very well be other moves that are contingent on moving Trouba. But even if not, they may make a move if Mancini struggles, or just play Ruhwedel instead.
So can we waive Mika and see if someone picks him up? If he passes through just have him come back to MSG? That should help with his mental state;):naughty:
Unfortunately, we can't waive a player with an NMC.

Trade Trouba for Stammer, call up Rempe, Phil Housley coaches a soft defense because he was a soft player. A quote from Cally about how the Rangers looked lazy and soft against NJ. Playing all the Greatest hits.

And remember who jokingly brought up Stamkos for Trouba? lol

I think this is more about turning things over to a new core. Drury wanted to do it in the offseason, but after Trouba refused to waive he probably figured it wasn’t worth it and might as well see what happens this season and then after they show that they can’t get it done again, changes happen.

Drury is even dumber than I thought if he's gonna get rid of Trouba just to give up a bunch of stuff for Brady Tkachuk

now I don't agree with this. Trouba was a massive negative on this team in every aspect and him going is straight up a win regardless of what we do next. particularly because I don't think Drury and Lav really see this as a winning season, I certainly don't.

if they just run with Chad I'm fine with that too, TBH. I just don't want Mancini to get Howden'd
