Aaron Portzline seemingly confirmed CBJ is in on Trouba. says a lot about his play that the Rangers are willing to move him to a division rival.
Why would Columbus be on his 15 team no trade? If they aren't on the list, this trade is done already.

I’ll just say this - and you can hate me for it and i would understand because trouba has at times played so terribly.

This guy gave it his all as NYR captain. I am thankful for that. He put his body on the line and delivered some of the absolute most bone crushing hits in this teams history. Respect to him for his tenure here. It’s time to move on, but I appreciate his effort and commitment.
I appreciate aspects of his gameplay.. .I didn't appreciate how he lost a pivotal game 3 in the ECF against tampa a few years back with bad penalties and bone head plays. He really couldn't play his position any more. who knows what went on in the room with him as a leader than does nothing to help his team win.

Maybe invest time into the game of hockey? you're a captain of an original 6 team in NYC.... put down your paint brushes.

I will never forgive him for the penalty he took in game three against Tampa with us up 2-0 in the series and in the game. Had them dead to rights and he gooned them right back into the series.

He took 3 penalties in that game. The last one was in the 3rd period that erased a double minor.

I still grind my molars into dust thinking about it.

If it was at all possible, I'd just keep THE BETTER Trouba. But he seems to have checked out.. for whatever reason. And his stupid contract would warrant a trade sooner rather than later anyway. Sad.

Usually when a player wants to not move. They put teams with cap space on their no trade list.
I guess. But if they are on the list just because they have cap and not because he hates the area/team, then considering the alternatives, its possible he accepts this trade. That's my optimistic view.

Im with ya here. I also think he was a better leader than given credit for, off the ice stuff.

But in the end, his play on the ice sucked for quite a while now.

And his leadership, however revered through personal relationships throughout the club, staff, fans and management - didn't manifest itself into a championship season on a team that may have had enough to take it all the way.

There were also too many instances when this team experienced lengthy meltdowns and you can heap a significant amount of blame onto the core leadership, and Jacob is at the top of that group.

I did not dislike the guy, but this needed to happen

Best to lay off naming a new captain.

The important part to this is not knowing who will actually still be here in 6-18 months, and with that not naming a captain just to see them moved out quickly.

I'm telling you all that there is a real chance that this will not stop at trouba, there are some big things being kicked around within the org. Make of that what you want.

I defended Trouba for years, but his play in last years playoffs, the excuse making, and then blocking a trade by threatening to not report or whatever it was, was impossible to defend. His pouting clearly had an effect on the locker room and its untenable when the captain is checked out. This will be best for all parties.

We talk about the captaincy being curse, but our last 3 all led team's to the ECF. The next guy needs to get us over the hump, whoever that is,

Hes using the mets to up the price on the yankees, but dont want to hijack this thread

Possibly, but hes definitely not leaving NYC.
