Trouba going for three weeks in a row of 32 thoughts thumbnails:

my favorite memory of Jake was when the Oilers scored against us at MSG to make it 4-3 and Leon Draisaitl flipped Trouba's stick out of his hand as he went to celebrate, and Trouba didn't even react.

About as fake a leader as can be

If waiving Goodrow destroyed the locker room what will treating Trouba like this do to the locker room? Kakko, Chytil, and a couple of other players all mentioned how Trouba was the captain and inspired them after the win against Montreal.

Well I'm presuming it won't be a like for like deal.
If cbj is going to take him off waivers. Then if we’re willing to retain something, then we probably get assets back.

We have some leverage.
That’s how it works.

Columbus?

What's their cap situation?
Last I checked they were under the floor. But that was at the start of the season.

The undeserving hate Drury gets from some of you is wild. Especially since it’s the same people that worshipped Gorton - the worst GM in the league.

Drury inherited most of this bullshit.
Is it wrong that I read your username as ColonyHockey?

This whole situation is an absolute mess. Waiving 2 players with clauses to get out of them claimed is both hilarious and such a crap move by the organization that they better hope future contracts don't bite them in the ass.

With that said, I don't care. He needs to go and he should have left in the off season.

I think mine was we traded Winnipegs own 1st round pick (that we acquired in the Kevin Hayes trade) back to them for Trouba.

Just a fun little quirk

Goodrow and Trouba shouldve played well enough that the rangers didnt decide they were addition by subtraction

Considering Trouba's role in this, f*** him.

I’ll just say this - and you can hate me for it and i would understand because trouba has at times played so terribly.

This guy gave it his all as NYR captain. I am thankful for that. He put his body on the line and delivered some of the absolute most bone crushing hits in this teams history. Respect to him for his tenure here. It’s time to move on, but I appreciate his effort and commitment.

This is entirely about the management trying to reassert their authority over the locker room. I told you all last weekend this was coming. I posted it repeatedly and you all dismissed it. This has been coming since the summer. Management was embarrassed about losing the situation this summer to trouba and his agent, they didn't get to sign guentzel, they had to trade for Smith, then they said okay show us if you are so sure we are wrong. The players have fallen on their face and Drury is now reasserting he is the alpha

Best to lay off naming a new captain. Too much shit happening and unless the team gets back to some kind of stability I wouldn't even think about it until the offseason.

If the Rangers can walk out from under that cap hit without trading some substantial prospect or pick that will be a win.

Not that most people give a shit but it's tough on the player. That said this team is in a state of free fall and Jacob's time of departure was closing in. He was among several highly paid vets who wasn't playing very well and as captain a lot of onus is going to fall on you for that too. A captain gets extra credit when his team does well and extra also when it doesn't as it should be. It just looks now like it's going to be a little bit sooner.

If there's a second round of this I would look to move Mika.
