I didn’t hate Trouba, especially not for the first 80% of his tenure. He was overpaid and fell flat of expectations but he was a trooper for a bit. Checked out this year, probably bounces back a little with a fresh start and less pressure, honestly. Either way…

This guy gave it his all as NYR captain. I am thankful for that. He put his body on the line and delivered some of the absolute most bone crushing hits in this teams history. Respect to him for his tenure here. It’s time to move on, but I appreciate his effort and commitment.

Game 7 against the Hurricanes. He massacred Seth Jarvis who crawled back to the bench like he got his legs blown off and caused a too many men on the ice penalty.

Naturally the ESPN booth totally missed that insane hit and speculated if Jarvis had lost a skate blade.

I’ll just say this - and you can hate me for it and i would understand because trouba has at times played so terribly.

Part of it is that he did try but he couldn't defeat the country club, not that he ever stood a chance. That combined with his injuries slowing him down I can understand that he checked out to a certain extent.

This whole situation is an absolute mess. Waiving 2 players with clauses to get out of them claimed is both hilarious and such a crap move by the organization that they better hope future contracts don't bite them in the ass.

With that said, I don't care. He needs to go and he should have left in the off season.
Or how about never giving out another nmc or ntc? Thatd be nice

Well, look. You can hate Drury if you want and think he's to blame for most or all of this situation. I won't agree, but I get where you're coming from. It's a fair take I guess.

But between Goodrow and now this, he has shown a willingness to be ruthless in getting the job done. So, that's something. I believe he considered doing something like this in the offseason but made a calculated decision that it was better, given the rest of the team was still intact, that the best choice was to try to run it back and hope it worked. And if it didn't, to tear it down. It didn't work and now we're tearing it down. I'm here for it.

I will remember Jake for being a key part of two ECF runs but also a key reason we lost in those two ECF runs.

very high highs and very, very low lows for him.
I will never forgive him for the penalty he took in game three against Tampa with us up 2-0 in the series and in the game. Had them dead to rights and he gooned them right back into the series.

This is entirely about the management trying to reassert their authority over the locker room. I told you all last weekend this was coming. I posted it repeatedly and you all dismissed it. This has been coming since the summer. Management was embarrassed about losing the situation this summer to trouba and his agent, they didn't get to sign guentzel, they had to trade for Smith, then they said okay show us if you are so sure we are wrong. The players have fallen on their face and Drury is now reasserting he is the alpha
Drury is embarrassed about losing a situation he didn’t have to lose? What are we doing here? lol

I’m also curious where was he finding the 9 million+ for Guentzel

Aaron Portzline seemingly confirmed CBJ is in on Trouba. says a lot about his play that the Rangers are willing to move him to a division rival.

8 mil from trouba + 2.5 mil for smith wouldve been plenty of space to sign a difference maker.

Yeah, he was never a super great player, but up until the last few games this year, you never got the sense that he gave anywhere less than 100% effort every game
