Kakko in a deal for the right player makes sense .

Ottawa stinks so target Batherson . They want to shake things up

They could use Trouba . Some teams would like his toughness but with retention
No it doesnt. He finally seems to be breaking out and now might be converted into a center. With Chytil likely not going to be in our long term plans we need a center.

I agree to some extent but the term might also be an issue and more than that the teams willing to take him will more than likely be the same teams that are less desirable. Would take a “perfect fit” scenario, and that’s before even talking about assets coming back and how they fit the rangers org, etc. Definitely possible, but that’s a difficult trade to make.

I remember Brian Burke speaking about it a few years ago. Basically how hard it was to make a trade work for the financial aspects of it. He said lots of deals fall through not due to the player but for the cap portion.

The roster needs to change for sure but firing Lav would be a huge win

Has anyone done the research on how Lavi produced for his clubs in the past in year 2, 3 or 4?

It'd need to be a quality for quality trade, but KK is one of the pieces we have that may actually return a decent D-man that we are desperate for. So while i doubt the Rangers want to get ride of him based on his improved play, they might think they need to bite the bullet as we can cover a lost winger easier and we really need that defensive overhaul.
Absolutely a trade that could haunt a GM (and a fan base) though

Somehow, we need to turn our junk, and a good piece or 2 into multiple d-men, and some centers both for immediate help and prospects with upside. Not a fun or easy task

His second full season has not been as good as his first....however, the drop off isn't as considerable as I was led to believe:

NYI
Year 1 -- 42-28-8-4 (96 pts)
Year 2 -- 35-34-11-2 (83 pts)

Car
Year 1 -- 52-22-8 (112 pts)
Year 2 -- 40-34-8 (99pts)

Phi
Year 1 -- 47-23-23 (106 pts)
Year 2 -- 47-26-9 (103 pts)

Nsh
Year 1 -- 47-25-10 (104 pts)
Year 2 -- 41-27-14 (96 pts)

Wsh
Year 1 -- 44-26-12 (100 pts)
Year 2 -- 35-37-10 (80 pts)

Note -- I only used his first two full seasons. He coached less than 60 games in his first season with Car, Phi and Was.

The team needs to do something, sitting on their hands will not accomplish anything.
After recent events, anything we do will only fall into the "doing something just to do something" category....thanks to that damn league memo, you would be lucky to get 2 cents on a dollar for anyone....any offers we receive will be way below normal market value -- some probably downright insulting. And there's not much that can be done internally.

Jeff Marek on the Sabres

“Everything’s on the line in that organization. It’s not exactly a secret,” he said “The players feel that, the players know it, behind closed doors the players talk about it. Everybody knows what is at stake with the Buffalo Sabres. Dylan Cozens has had a really rough season. Jack Quinn has had a rough start as well. You guys were mentioning Bowen Byram, and he may just end up killing them in arbitration if he’s still with the Sabres and it gets there. The name Owen Power has been whispered out there as well.”

He's the undisputed best goalie in the NHL, he is worth way more than Gulyayev (who though I'm a big fan of, he hasn't been producing any more this year than last year). I could see Nikishin, though he's having a down year as well; I would want Svechnikov coming back instead.
he is probably the best goalie in the NHL but that’s just way too much cap space with all the holes we have
