Blue Jays Discussion: 2024-25 Off-season: The free agent watch begins (and sometimes old baseball radio broadcasts)

Canadian viewers don't bring in the same revenue since the big advertisers aren't as interested in the market as they are with comparable American ones.
From the most recent numbers I can find, the Jays viewership is nearly double the next highest (the Yankees). Even if advertisers value American eyes twice as much as Canadian eyes, the Yankees most recent reported TV revenue was $143 million in 2022.

Maybe I'm vastly underestimating how much advertisers pay for American viewers or something, but it sure seems like Rogers is making at least an extra $100 million or so off the Jays that isn't being reported as revenue for the team.

To be clear, I have way less of a problem with this now that the Jays seem to be interested in spending with the big boys.

Some other interesting names are Adrian Pinto at 13 who we got in the Grichuk-Tapia trade. Barriera at 14 and Will Wagner at 19.

Has Bloss, Yesavage and Orelvis as players who can make impacts in 2025. Khal Stephens is his sleeper.

I guess it depends what they do to round out the offense, but I really think Roden is going to end up having a big impact this year.

By the end of the year, I think we'll see either him or Wagner getting the bulk of the time at leadoff.
And they both bat left handed which is nice. If Wagner has a good spring, I might even start him at leadoff... If Roden is good in the minors, that would be a great option later in the season too. They should probably just go with the hot hand between Wagner, Giménez, or Clement to bat lead off, imo, since no one has really "earned it" yet. Bat Springer 6th to take some of the pressure off him.
