If you're going to rebuild, it's around players like Kreider.
Come on, Gorton.
Come on, Gorton.
Both McKenzie (Bobcast) and Dreger (Insider Trading) have mentioned Kreider.
I'm an advocate for the rebuild.
I hate the idea of trading Kreider.
I don't agree. What if Winnipeg is willing to trade Trouba for Skjei, what if Buffalo is willing to offer their 1st+? You always listen, and consider trades for everyone, you never know who will knock your socks off. Plus, I don't view Skjei as this completely untouchable, foundational piece. He's not like McDonagh at 23, he's a decent defenseman at this point. This whole "everybody is on the block" thing Mackenzie is mentioning worries me that the team has literally no plan at all.
If someone like Skjei for example is even being considered to move - there is no plan imo.

Equal parts hilarious and worrisome that Vesey is included in the "future core" section of Brooks' article.

We have to keep somebody
Moving in to Staal's expensive CT digs. What the heck is going on with the Rangers?
Did anyone see this? McDonagh sold his apartment not long ago?
Trade everyone over 22 and nuke the roster is not a plan.
First you need a model of the way you want to play, then a coach who can execute that, then you keep whoever fits that, and then you deal the rest, and that can be for futures if you want, but it's like step #4.
I 100% agree with you. But ultimately I actually do hold out hope that they do have a plan like this behind closed doors. I wouldn't expect them to leak it all out (or any of it). Fishing for offers and trade talks is fine, the proof will be in what they actually choose to execute.
Of the first 5 in your core, two haven’t been in the NHL yet so they are complete mysteries, one is more interested in his looks and lifestyle and scared shitless on the ice, and one is a gigantic stoner straight out of the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High who also is very inconsistentIf it were going to be broken down to a "core" not including goalies
For me, it looks like:
Andersson
Chytil
Buchnevich
Zibanejad
Hayes
Kreider
Skjei
DeAngelo (eh)
If Pionk plays well enough (I think he has it in him) he can work his way onto the list

Can I ask why?
Ehhh, I trust McKenzie and Friedman enough. Dreger or anyone else, not so muchI don't think TSN has any more inside sources on the Rangers than Brooks and Brooks included Kreider as part of the core

Stop listening to the talking heads that just get random blurbs and transform it into sensationalist clickbaitThis whole "everybody is on the block" thing Mackenzie is mentioning worries me that the team has literally no plan at all.
