Wonder will they dare to keep Mancini after Lindgren is back and scratch the captain from time to time, would go a long way to making him accept a trade next year
I doubt it. For one, we are currently using LTIR to fit Mancini on the roster. If we keep him once Lindgren is back, then we have to send down one of the forwards. I'm sure you'd be okay with waiving Brodzinski, but I doubt Drury/Lavi will agree. That means one of Edstrom or Rempe would have to go down.

Mancini has played all of 18 games as a pro. He won't be hurt by spending time in Hartford, and he'll be the first call up if and one someone gets hurt.

I think some people worry about Trouba too much. Don't think there's much doubt he'll be moving next summer with only one year of term left and I expect the Rangers are going to re-sign Igor--$12 mil or bust. They'll do it. Rangers have 3 RD in Fox, Schneider and Mancini so that won't be a problem either. But anyway I don't think Drury will be f***ing around with any ifs, ands or buts this time. He's forewarned so it's a matter of dotting I's and crossing t's.

That doesn't mean the Rangers won't look to pick up a vet D on their left side.

Do the Rangers have any interest in claiming Lavoie and/or is he certain to go before us in the order

I don't know anything about him, but the bottom 6 looks pretty crowded already and that's with Vesey on IR. Is he enough of a difference to risk what we already have going on waivers, or sending back Rempe/Edstrom? Seems like we'd be claiming him just to waive him again

On the one hand this analysis is flawless
On the other hand, it presupposes Vesey is better than RempEd which is not the case
OR
Vesey is not better than RempEd, but they don't care b'c rather than deal Vesey for a lower pick, they want to keep him around, even if it means sending a better player down.

NO
stop the bs
deal Vesey NOW

did Vegas, who claimed him, waive?

If he can be grabbed we should.
Good prospect and he is a PIVOT

We can cut Korzackm[sp] and if that's a prob no takers, deal him + a 6th for a 7th

No we can find room for him in the A while eventually Brodz or other is replaced

EDIT
apparently LV waived + EDM claimed and put him back on waivers??????????
so yeah
CLAIM HIM

This is the right answer. Management wants to win. Teams need depth to deal with injuries and Vesey provides that depth. A late round pick won't help for many years, if ever.

Rempe and Edstrom aren't going anywhere. Both will get ample chance to play, regardless of Vesey being on the team.

If that is yr take on right answer, I respectfully disagree to extent of 'Vesey provides that depth' in that to whatev extent that is true [compared to other options], he is not worth taking mins from RempEd

I agree about late pick being a long shot
this is about addition by subtraction

Doubt they do but the Oilers had to put him back on waivers so that means one of the like 10 teams that are above them In waiver priority claimed too. Rangers on that list

Am I crazy, or does it feel like the NHL media is really pushing the Rangers as Cup favorites this year? I’m definitely a conspiracy theorist, so I’m going to remember this and call it scripted if they win.
They had the 4th best betting odds to win the Cup and are returning essentially an identical President’s Trophy winning roster. Nobody is as down on this team as its own fans are, but they’re objectively a good team

EF on 32T. Igor wants $12M-$12.5M. He wants to be the highest paid player on the team.

CBA expires in 2026. New agreement will bring a big jump to the cap.

$92.5M next season and big jump in 26-27. EF said some people are thinking/hoping the NHL rips up the last season of the CBA. Bettman said earlier this at the BOG meeting that they are hoping to announce a new CBA before the Cup final. Some people hope the new CBA would start next season and not in two seasons. Gary isn't doing that.

8 mil for Laf through his 20s with a rising cap will be one of the best contracts in the league if/when he signs it.
The fact that he's in talks for a team friendly contract after the last couple years - no powerplay time, team isn't maximizing his production ect. He must love being a Ranger. I wish other guys on the team would have the same attitude.
