i don’t mind atkinson but imo we have a just as good version of current atkinson in hartford in berard. i’d rather just give him a shot

I don't hate the idea of Atkinson but Philly would need to retain a bit. $5.875m for next season is steep. It would give the team someone to play with Kreider and Zibanejad though for what would likely be minimal cost.

Atkinson is a similar player to Vatrano except he is actually an effective forechecker and he's having a down season.

Taking Atkinson as a salary dump would cheapen the asking price but I feel like they'd need to move Goodrow to make it work. Maybe there is something there? Especially if Philly moves Laughton.

No, it's saying you need an ELITE Dman, and then another #1 Dman (and actually, it's saying you need another two #1 Dmen, or at least most Cup winners have two more defenders playing at that high a level).

Fox can't be two players.

Igor has been below average this season. Nothing weird about that.

If he continues to turn the corner (and they bother to update the chart) then I'm sure it will reflect that.
Its stupid.
And Igor has been well below HIS average, with him having been miserable earlier on. Anyone who is trying to argue Igor isn't AT LEAST an above average NHL goalkeeper, if not elite, is just pushing a narrative.

To me, Atkinson seems like a Drury move. It's a player who can come in and help the right wing for this year and next, he has chemistry with the LW on that same line. He probably gives the team another half of a season at least for Othmann and Berard to develop in the AHL which isn't a bad thing. The question is cost and if Philly would retain a bit.

He would solve some things for this team for the next year and a half

Listen, If i was offended by the analytics dogpile I get every time I talk about a player I like I wouldve left a long time ago. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Im flattered mine seems to get this reaction so often lol.
I don't read the fancy stat posts.

Ever.

I don't come here to be "educated" or preached to by anyone. I dont care if anyone likes the game the way i do. I enjoy the game the way my father showed me, and his father showed him. Starting around 1950.

I have allegiance to NO player. Only the team. And here's a shocker. I don't know more than ANY GM, ANY coach, or ANY scout. Maybe except Bobrov.

I enjoy interacting with those not looking for some HF Board Golden Globe. Those with a sense of humor that don't take themselves so seriously.
The ones that would hope the Rangers lose to prove their point have vanished from my feed long ago.
So have the ones looking to debate over whether the sun rises in the east.

I'm here originally since 2005 for rumors, some interesting speculation, and Ranger fan humor.

His projection is elite. His play this season hasn’t been. They even show you both for this exact reason.

The Rangers traded Callahan at the deadline for an upgrade. No reason Lindgren can’t be traded. Seems to clearly be the most obvious spot for an upgrade.
I would love to agree with this but as @NickyFotiu pointed out Callahan was in his UFA year and there were speculations all year about him being moved. probably not comparable situations

Ew no to Atkinson , Flyers fans already claiming he’s washed

That, and the Rangers' last game is on April 15th, an entire week before the playoffs start. And that's if they play on the first night, which they hardly ever do.
I think this week and next week we have like a total of 4 games combined or something. Really sparse.

Cam Atkinson? WTF. Unless he's playing with some kind of injury he looks cooked.
Plus 6 million cap next year.
Can Zucker play Right wing?

I like Zucker's game. Saw Florida might be interested. That prick was born to be on that Panthers team tbh. 27 goals last year but a lot of injuries and inconsistency over the years.

The Wyshynski proposal isn't awful. The Rangers dump Goodrow on Anaheim. No buyouts on the books. Anaheim retains money. Vatrano is signed for next season.

It would be better if the Rangers could find a player(RW) with term remaining(more than one year) or someone who will be a group II and they could extend. Trade the 1st and 2nd round picks for that player. That 2nd round pick will be the late 50's/early 60's. There aren’t that many NHL players taken in that part of the draft. The Rangers fill that hole after wasting assets trying to fill that hole for three straight seasons.

Frank talked about Buchnevich getting a number starting with an 8 in his next contract. No.

I agree. The people saying go the buyout route instead are crazy. Sykora is a redundant prospect and Laba may never play an NHL game. Picks are picks. This would be a solid move because they'd be coming out ahead on cap space for the summer too.

Henrique vatrano would be the most uninspired of the combos out there.

I have zero interest in Henrique but Im fine with Vatrano. Verbeek seems to be trying to up Vatrano's value by packaging him with Henrique. It's the only way he can get a 1st round pick for either guy so it makes sense from the Ducks side. If Drury was willing to do that I think it would be done.

Not every prospect is untouchable. We would be jumping for joy if Sykora becomes a player like Vatrano in 3-4 years. The issue is we could use that much more now. Plus Berard is closer the the NHL. Too many wing prospects.
I wouldn't mind Berard getting traded over Sykora. I think Skyora has a much better shot being a NHLer than him.

People are sleeping on Sykora. Going to be a fan favorite, Cally light player out there.
