Need more than just 2 players to do this. Did not see any of that last night. Mika hugging. That is truly pathetic

I wouldn't take too much from that loss last night, given how they've looked most of the season. Shit happens.Need more than just 2 players to do this. Did not see any of that last night. Mika hugging. That is truly pathetic![]()
Literally any time you can have 15 mil+ between two dmen who wont play PP you do it in a heartbeat. This NEEDS to happen. He would be a major improvement. I would think a mid level prospect and a 2nd but he will def get major interest might cost a 1st if we resign him. But it would be worth it IMO
Let's get crazy and include Chytil for Lindholm if he will sign for 6.5-7 mill per year. He can then play RW with Zibs and Kreider or the Rangers could stretch the lineup out and roll him as a 3C which could be a match up nightmare. The Rangers would still need a player who can play 3C but its possible Pinto could be available and Kappo could be great trade bait.View attachment 782668
It fits with a spare forward only and ~$3m in cap space. Yes, I assumed modest raises for Quick and Kakko and signed a 4th line center for $1.5m although maybe one of the younger players can fill that hole. Or maybe they don't sign Pitlick and give Edstrom a shot on the 4th line. Either way, it fits.
Also as a side note, the long term deals for high end players were the norm prior to COVID when the salary cap was increasing every year. I get the sense that we will see similar things this off-season with the cap expected to grow considerably over the next 4+ years as the league has grown and the players have paid the owners back. a 7 year deal @ $7m for a top-4 27 year old d-man is going to look better and better as we move along.
You are telling me that Fox a Norris winning dman can only play with Lindgren? The move on defense is next season, assuming we can't keep Gus. For now, move on from Jones and upgrade our 7D.
Take Lindgren out and you screw up our top pair. Fox always struggles without Lindgren. How many people thought Leetch should have a better partner than Beuk in the 90s? Not Leetch. Not Richter.
Hard to tell if those goals last night were more on Shesty or on our D coverage. What will Housley do to adjust?
throwing big money at Hanifin would just be making the Trouba mistake all over again. except without the leadership qualities and Big Hitz.
he would be an upgrade on Lindgren for this year though but i'm not giving up Kakko for him. it's going to be a big time sellers market for him too.
He won that Norris partnered with Lindgren. We've all watched the games with Fox partnered with anyone else. You are telling me that Fox a Norris winning dman can only play with Lindgren?
The love affair with this guy is just weird at this point.
You're crazy.Call me crazy but I'd sign Trouba tomorrow at age 27 for 7 years @ $7m per season. $7m this off-season isn't the same as $8m when Trouba signed.
Yeah, I'd REALLY like to see that happen, but will we?Couldn’t agree more. Time to get Fox a true partner.
True, need more than Laffy. Troch does it too, but really could use some more. Othmann will likely settle in in the top 6, but I doubt we see that before Jan, if then. Eventually one of Cuylee, Berard or Sykora will probably make top six as well.Need more than just Lafy. I wish Kreider had a mean streak. 1 player in the top 6 that does this, is not enough. The ones with good depth have a balance of that. Even a Sam Bennett type would ignite some life in this team. Remember when Avery became a Ranger, someone like that.
You're crazy.
I misread "tomorrow at age 27", but even though I like Trouba I don't think his play merits that contract. I would hope at the very least you wouldn't still give him a NMC.I'm confused as to why. He's a top-4 d-man who puts up 30-35 points a year and plays a very physical style (Trouba). Hanifan is a smooth skating, rangy d-man who is easily a top-4 guy, maybe top-pairing. $7m in cap dollars is not that much money for a prime position on the team.
Doesn't matter now but it does in the playoffs when you are getting your dicks kicked in and the other team is physically destroying youI laugh at how some people point to grit in a game where the defense blows and the goalie blows even more.
Yeah smashing some faces would have changed the above.

Being a stiffer presence often avoids defensive breakdowns later in the play and subsequent shitty goaltending.I laugh at how some people point to grit in a game where the defense blows and the goalie blows even more.

An average NHLer level of compete from Zibanejad keeps the puck in the zone last night and avoids Troubas stupid pinch, the rush down the ice, Gus terrible 2 on 1 defense, and a subsequent PPG.
You know this.
It would in a 7 game seriesThat didn’t happen yesterday either lol.
Lindgren got popped but that was it.
Imagine harder. He's worse.https://x.com/friedgehnic/status/1735012338430853159?s=46&t=WWGwhyQiVsqtB6-tfs442w
I’d give Zboril a shot. Hard to imagine he’s worse than Jones.
He should've won the norris again last year and he played a third of the season with Harpur and Mikkola. He won that Norris partnered with Lindgren. We've all watched the games with Fox partnered with anyone else.
