Maybe you can get away with

1st, 2nd, Chytil, BMB, Berard/Sykora/Edstrom

For

Crosby @ 50% retained

Trade Goodrow in a separate deal or in the offseason to free up $3+ million + the projected $4 million cap increase, you can spread that out to get a quality middle 6 player if needed**. You may not need with Othmann on the squad. Or now you have money to retain Gus & add a decent 6th Dman around $1-$3 million range

Kreider-Zib-Kakko
Panarin-Troch-Laf
Cuylle-Crosby-Othmann
Vesey-Bonino-Wheeler
Pitlick/Goodrow
You’re gonna trade all that for Crosby and then put him with Cuylle and Othmann instead of Panarin and Laf?

I won't even get on about that package. You trade one of the greatest centers of all time (magically retained at 50%), a franchise center who literally saved the team, and put him on the 3rd line with some kids. What space world am I in? There was a trade proposal in the trade forum that was like this and that all to get a 7D and I was like what is the point of this proposal?

explains a lot. Looked so timid out there.

I guess not a bad time to have a few extra days before the next game
I believe Nash is injured.
Belzile and Blidh would be the traditional choice but for the one game on Saturday I’d go with Edstrom and Rempe.
Washington is a big team that wear down the referees to the point where they stop calling penalties. Capital player’s keep themselves in the game by mugging and holding all game. Not good hockey. They play the 1-3-1 right from the start. They don’t even wait to get a lead.
Rangers would do well to drive all play through the middle.

yes

if Devs offered Holtz for Zac, I'd be tempted ...

interesting, has Rempe really shown enough that he's ready for NHL?

His skating has improved where he won’t be lagging play.
He’s always in position when he doesn’t have the puck.
He’s willing to stand in front of the Net.
…and of course he has that particular set of skills.
There are better players in Hartford on the depth chart with an all around game but for this one game on Saturday I believe he would be a good fit.
Washington is slow and big. A perfect place for Rempe to have a cup of coffee.

Crosby on the Rongos is a guaranteed cup.

Let’s hope Pitt keeps losing
Why can't he do it with the roster they have in Pittsburgh? Who is to say our lockerroom would fall into line behind Crosby, or vice versa? How likely is Sid going to buy in to Lav's system and the heavy practices?

No, I don't see a Cup in this scenario. I see a completely avoidable mistake that isn't even within the realm of possibilities. It's not worth any serious discussion.

Crosby being traded to long time rival New York Rangers is more of a pipe dream than [INSERT ANY OTHER SUPERSTAR NAME HERE]. Especially at 50% retained.

Maybe we can get Crosby AND McDavid. That should guarantee a Cup, no? ;)

Is Kreider just day to day? That seems to be the kiss of death in hockey terminology. Lol.

He is one of the greatest centers of all time. With great vision and playmaking ability. Don’t you think it would make sense to put him with a kid who loves to shoot and another kid who can open up space on the ice going to the dirty areas? Crosby has played with many different wingers throughout his career and they have all benefited from playing with him. He has gotten the most out of them. The same couldn’t happen with Othmann? Othmann couldn’t be better than Bryan Rust was when he first broke in? Why break up Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere who have great chemistry? I mean sure you certainly could. But the logic isn’t outrageously out of this world…. FFS my man..
