I don't think 22 and Lias gets you Brodin with an extension unless the Wild really love Lias for some reason.

Wild probably would be more interested in Hajek than Jones as he’s a closer to be a roster replacement for Brodin. Andersson is such a wild card (sorry for the pun) as it’s very difficult to judge his trade value around the league. I’m sure there are plenty of team that wouldn’t mind taking him off our hands with a heavy discount. So Hajek, Andersson and 2nd in 2021 might be a reasonable offer.

I like Krebs. If they acquired him as part of a package from Vegas, he would be nice insulation for the top 6 depth in case someone like Kravstov doesn't work out

Krebs++ for DeAngelo seems like a move to acquire more pieces to make another trade at some point

This is why I won’t kick dirt on Anderssons career just yet.

That’s fair even though it wasn’t really my point (I’d have the same reaction if it was said that Andersson will never be an NHLer)

I stopped projecting on Andersson’s future as an NHLer since I think that the situation has reached a point where both sides would agree with a separation when a right opportunity comes along. His issue is speed and immaturity. Both fixable to certain degree and in the organization that doesn’t have Zibanejad and Chytil’s equivalents (like Minnesota that we’re discussing now) maybe Andersson will get a shot and be able to claim a top-6 role.

Just curious if this would be legal loophole in the expansion draft.

Making a trade with Vegas prior to the expansion draft for “future considerations”.. then after the draft announcing who the player is which would have been a player we would have needed to protect.

This way we get to protect an extra player in the draft while not having to protect the player we are trading for since Vegas is exempt.

why would vegas agree to this? they would then have to protect both the player we send to them and the player we are getting to expose another of the players they are keeping

I'm sorry but if the Rangers are trading ADA to Vegas, I want Cody Glass. They don't need another winger and Glass has the potential to be a difference maker at center. They are receiving a difference maker on defense. That's the price +
Don't see them trading Glass at all, Statsny is gone after next season and Glass can be their 2C on and ELC, which would be huge for a contending team that doesn't have much cap space

Would much prefer a deal centered around him to the Krebs proposal that's been floating around. Not sure how willing they would be to move him.

I thought Krebs was a natural center? Is he seen more as a wing at he NHL level?

The league said they would carefully monitor trades with Vegas to make sure there is no circumvention of the expansion draft. They know Vegas is exempt and they don't want anyone using them to mess with Seattle's $650m investment.

i'd want glass too but krebs is a center too I think.

Can't see Vegas trading either Glass or Krebs. They'll need them down the road and for cap purposes as well. Slim chance of Krebs but doubtful for DeAngelo. Folks need to keep in mind that the team taking on DeAngelo needs to be able to afford him.
