Lemieux shouldn’t be traded. The guy is just getting going being a good PKer and we need those.
I don’t recall many posts discussing how Panarin would fare if moved to the RW. Thoughts?
You said he’s gonna be replaced with an upgrade. Who and at what cost? What are you getting at?

I never expected to him to be some prolific scorer so maybe your expectations are out of whack. He’s a 4th liner on a good team. That’s fine we need that still.I said Lemieux should be more effective in his role IF he wants to stay in the Rangers long term plans.
Do you think he’s been effective?
If the Rangers move on from Georgiev I think they're going to need to find another goalie. If the new season starts in December or January---that's not very far off and it's probably going to at least start in a bubble again. If that's the case it's 30/35 player rosters again as well. You can't have people entering and exiting without quarantining etc. A lot of epidemiologists are expecting an upsurge of Covid cases in the Fall and we're looking at predictions of 400,000 Covid dead by January 1--which is a bit over twice what we have now. So a bubble will no doubt be in Canada again.
To me Henrik has declined to being a mediocre NHL goaltender at this point. I'm not sure he can hold up his end or that he's going to like being the backup goaltender in a bubble existence somewhere in Canada for however long it takes for the United States to get some real control over our pandemic problem. There's a potential for a problem and we could use an insurance goaltender option and Huska ain't it.
Agreed on Lemieux. He brings the diversification that is looked for at this roster.I’d be less inclined to trade Lemieux, specifically given his ability to play both wings. This was technically his first dull season in the NHL after a decent stretch after the trade last year and some VERY limited minutes in Winnipeg. I’d probably be more inclined to be looking for more guys who can play that effective depth role. Say someone like Clifford.
If the team truly believes Kreider can play on the right, I’m much more inclined to say Buch is the guy to go.

The one timer would be more useful on the right side with him being a lefty.Agreed on Lemieux. He brings the diversification that is looked for at this roster.
I could easily live with a Clifford as 4th line RW.
I think that Buch is a candidate to be moved no matter what. And that has nothing to do with Kreider. I also do not know that moving Kreider to RW is an easy answer. The one timer is lost at that point. Not that Kreider's is Ovechkin's at all, but it is still something that goes off the board.
Is that right? Am I off the mark and he is a lefty? Seriously. If that is correct, then yeah, that will go even more to Buchnevich being the odd man out soon. The one timer would be more useful on the right side with him being a lefty.

Right I forgot 24 years old he’s already done. Guess we should get an upgrade then. So I’ll go back to my original question you keep dodging - who is that upgrade?Did you even read my post? He’s not an effective 4th liner ( see Isles, Knights etc) right now. Never mentioned anything even close to “prolific scorer”.
Fine, but Kreider has more value that Buchnevich. In general, and also specifically to this Rangers team.Buch is a lefty also.

He absolutely has been effective.
The thing that’s overlooked with Lemieux is he’s 24 and has only played about 130 career games. Chytil just turned 21 and has more games on his resume.
Lemieux hasn’t come close to tapping his full potential yet and he’s already a difference maker on our team.
Ok, who is the if. Name some names. Please read again. I specifically capitalized “IF”. Have a good one!
You know who else the Rangers love? The Rangers love Lemieux. He's not getting dealt. We can drop that convo.
Just better at what he’s asked to do now.
