Anti Vanilla, not anti Brodz. He's fine as a 4th liner but he's not the answer for the 3rd line and even then I'd still prefer Edstrom and Rempe in the lineup. Think about our run to the ECF, we had Laf, Chytil and Kakko on the 3rd line, it's probably the biggest reason outside of Shesty we got there. Brodz ain't that guy, he's a fill in.

I'm on record to wanting to bring 3C to push Brodzinski to the 4th line in order to improve the team. However, this doesn't mean that Cuylle and Kakko have been carrying him. Brodzinski has been carrying his own weight and then some (if we take into consideration his history and cap cost)

Its not his fault, he's playing higher in the lineup than he should be, i have no feelings towards the guy, if I could dump Goodrow and have Brodz Rempe and Edstrom id love it. The only issue i have is that having him at 3c isn't the center depth that gets you a cup. I just worry that they won't upgrade that spot, and if they do then Rempe will be sent down, which imo would be a step back.

We're talking is circles. Again, I'm not arguing against acquiring 3C and having more depth at C. I disagree with assertion that his wingers have been carrying his weight.

I'd feel better about it if I knew that they'd get 10 minutes or less a game at ES.

They're probably going to get close to double that.

I have no hope for the pairing even being passable.

I think they have defensively. Thats not to say that he's bad, but his wingers are legitimately good/great there.

Hes pretty good at getting the puck up ice though and that is something. It's one of the reasons why I'm not popping out of my seat to find a replacement. If you're going to replace him, it has to be with someone who can do what he does and other things better, not someone who does different things and sucks at the things he does.

Or someone who sucks at everything (Laughton.)

We know that the improvement will happen at minimum over Goodrow at 4C even if the potential acquisition is just “on par” with Brodzinski with some additional experience that should be pretty much a given over <100 career games Brodzinski.
