It would be so Rongos to not go after Zegras because defense, and then throw coveted assets at Buffalo for the older inferior player... and then we all continue to complain about how this team can't generate goals when it matters.

And then NJD go ahead and trade for Zegras and he tortures us with Hughes for the next 10 years.

They should work Edstrom onto the PK.
I believe that's the plan. He's up for the rest of the year imo

Swap Trochek and Zib for 5 games, see how it goes, give Kakko a spot with Kreider and Trochek, we may not need a top 6 winger if players are put in proper spots imo.

Get Eberle on deadline day, and stick him with Kreider and Mika and have the puck 55% of the time they are on the ice.

i like this idea. Eberle is still really good and he's not racking up the points this year so maybe it wouldn't take as much as it should to get him. i'm coming around to thinking we need a top 6 RW more than a 3C.

Interesting to see if this is revisited at some point, during the offseason I guess?

The team can find a RW who won't cost much. Go get someone like that. Someone who can play a more tenacious style but perhaps doesn't put up a ton of points. That RWer isn't going to have the puck a lot on that line. It's just how it goes.
no, don't get anyone, at least not F, promote from within
no squandering any more assets

It's not gonna be long before we start to hear the BS about Perrault being one dimensional as well.

Soon.....

Seattle is trying to resign him, and nyr needs both things along with another d man

Yet he creates a ton of offense with transitions that he creates through forcing turnovers. Loved this pick except the skating but he continues to just excel

Insane that the Devils were ready to give up Holtz + for him.

If NJ pays even more to get them to agree on retention I will laugh my ass off.
The devil's are in that spot now where they have more players than space to have them excel in roles. They need a goalie soo badly. Still think a deal for Gibson would have been their better move in the summer. I really believe Gibson will bounce back in a competitive environment.

He's good, I think they should do it!

Please?

Oh boy, didn't see this...

idk, i think we really have something with Brodzinski. he's really good defensively and he has 14 points in 34 games with limited ice time. that line is working. someone who's actually better than him is gonna cost us big time. would rather give up stuff for an actual top 6 scorer.

I laugh at the people looking at a Zegras trade. Not sure if anyone can tell but Drury has a player type and that’s players not only with skill but sandpaper as well.

There were really only 2 exceptions here, Kane who forced his way to NY and Perrault who was clearly the BPA.

Hell even the players he usually acquire at the deadline fit that mold (i.e., Copp, and Tarasenko to some extent).

This isn’t NHL 24 with Jovo running the team and a top line consisting of Zegras and Kravstov because they have “flair”.

Drury is going to build a team of Othmanns and Sykoras if he’s here long enough.

A team of Othmanns and Sykoras isn't winning the cup without something crazy happening. There's not enough skill there

Nowhere in my post did I say it was the right or wrong approach, I simply stated that Drury has a player mold he likes and as long as he’s the GM I don’t really see that changing.
