Anybody hear of some dude named James Wilson of NHL Trade Rumors? Some dude from Counterpoint said that Calgary and the Rangers are in talks regarding KK and Schneids going to Calgary.

The return seemed underwhelming to me.
I'm sure it's a bs site, so don't think I'll post the whole trade being discussed. Popped up as a Hockey News feed through Google.

Unless you guys want me to lolz.

that CGY rumor is rather weird which just props it up as sounding even more like bullshit.

Kakko for Ružička is something I wouldn't scoff at entirely but it makes you ask yourself is the benefit of adding someone to play with Sykora in the next couple of years worth it compared to the risk of Kakko turning into a monster up in Calgary? If Kakko really is what he is right now, does Ružička add more than what KK does to the bottom-6? Ružička would then be a Chytil insurance policy I suppose and maybe even a Goodrow or Bonino replacement for the future?

Schneider for Tanev makes no sense at all to me, Hanifin @50% retention instead of Tanev sounds more likely though if the plan is to move on from Lindgren this summer and extend Hanifin.

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Hanifin-Gustafsson

This D core for the 24' run has a bit more versatility than what we have now and Hanifin is a step up from Schneids.

Just saying no way the coach breaks that line up for Chytil's return. I'm fine with either centering that line but maybe Chytil and Kakko can find some chemistry. Kakko needs to be a top RW contributor for this team and maybe him and Chytil can find some magic again.
Yeah. I’m not breaking up the Panarin line and actually I don’t even mind how the Mika line is going.
If/when Chytil comes back, I’d have him in the bottom six. Part of a players value - and I’d say a big part - is his ability to play and play to his capabilities. Chytil has yet to prove he can do that. Which is a shame and I 100% feel for him. But it’s for real.

It's all fantasyland messageboard stuff, let him shoot for the stars. It's not like Perreault gets traded if an HFNYR poster says yes.
Exactly. It’s just a chat board. I wouldn’t want to trade Perreault either but a guy comes over in a friendly manner with a conversation topic, it’s all good. Nothing to get upset about.

Calgary flames fan fic is fun.

Almost as fun as the Vancouver Canucks fan fic from a few pages back.
Well, a guy asking a question here is one thing. Putting it into print publicly is yet another. That Calgary one is garbage.

Friedman said in HNIC that Sens are aggressively after veterans, they are not trading away their young core but want vets around to show them how it's done.

Drury, get on the f***ing phone and drive Goodrow to the airport. Like f***ing now. Just give him away, they don't have to pay anything.

Friedman also reported the Flames and Hanifan are talking about the contract extension after taking a break in October.

Ottawa has to be on Goodrow’s NTC list. Maybe a call from Tkachuk would help more.

Unfortunately, Ottawa doesn't have any cap space. They have a bit right now with Joseph on LTIR, but he is expected back in the next week or so, barring a setback. They also have to deal with Pinto once he comes off suspension.

Kubalik has been terrible for them. Maybe they would move him. Kubalik and Brannstrom for Goodrow and Jones?

Goodrow: 3,641,667 (3 years left)
Jones: 812,500 (1 year left, RFA)
Total 4,454,167

Kubalik: 2.5 mil (pending UFA)
Brannstrom: 2 mil (pending RFA)
Total: 4.5 mil

I doubt they would do that, but you never know. If Goodrow were producing like he has the last 2 years, maybe. Of course, Goodrow has a 15 team NTC and Ottawa is likely on it, so it's probably moot.

Maybe Chicago would be interested given all of their injuries. They have plenty of cap space.

There were legit NHL sources that were saying Goodrow was being shopped this past summer. Given that the cap was going to be flat again, how tight most teams were, and what kind of deals players were signing this past summer it's no surprise there was no suitor. I don't think that there's no market for Goodrow, the money just wasn't there last off-season. Look at what Michael Bunting and Ryan O'Reilly got, these are 60 point players that are getting paid less than a million dollars more than Goodrow because of it! Those teams got phenomenal deals. The league has already announced the cap should jump by 4 million this summer. Teams will have more space, a deal could open up that doesn't bend us over too much.

What team is going to want to spend like 90% of their new found cap on Goodrow? I’m not buying that there will be any new suitors. If anything there will be less as he has further declined

and you dont think goodrow has ottawa on his no team list? He has 15 teams on his list.
I guarantee you unless he wanted to move, its the top 15 teams with available cap space.

That would be
Buffalo
Hawks
Ducks
Preds
Coyotes
CBJ
Red wings
sharks
flyers
hurricanes (possibly not on the list because we're not moving him there)
Jets
Panthers
Kraken ( possibly not on the list because they were good last year)
Oilers
Devils (possibly not on the list because we're not moving him there)

So replace hurricanes with flames, Replace Kraken with ottawa , replace devils with Blues or MTL, and you have an idea of his list.

I've gotta hand it to Troch. I was trying to not overreact to his 4-point game, but then he goes and gets 5 in 2.

I've liked his game since he was in FLA, was jealous when CAR got him, and thought he played a very good series against us. He was the perfect Strome/Copp replacement/upgrade at the perfect time. He also brings tools that Mika and Fil lack.

I don't expect a continued 180 point pace out of him (9 in 4 games), but stringing along a streak instead of just popping off for a game is a big deal.

RIP me for forecasting based on his first 34 games of the season and not on game #35 specifically, right? LOL
