Maybe once everyone is healthy try. No line numbering. First three lines should see about equal 5v5 time.

Panarin - Trocheck - Laff
Kreider - Chytil - Vesey
Othemann/TDL acquisition - Zib - Kakko
Goodrow - Bonino - Wheeler
Pitlick

The Goodrow contract is really killing this bottom 6, and the bromance needs to be broken up at least at even strength.

I'd trade any pick the Rangers currently have with Goodrow to Ottawa for Tarasenko at 50% retention if that was somehow possible to work. A 3.6m cap hit for the next 3 seasons is just brutal, and the Rangers need a pure goalscorer/sniper/shoot first player. I'd happily throw in Berard if Ottawa were willing to throw in a young center to sweeten the pot (Ridly Greig?) so that Wheeler could get relegated to the 4th line where he belongs based on how he's playing.

Even if Ottawa weren't willing to thrwo in a center, this would also free up money to acquire a 3C, and give us someone who can beat a goalie clean from the circle which we are lacking. The trick would be getting Goodrow to waive the no-trade. It would also save us a ton of cap over the next 3 years.

As for Goodrow's face injury, that has nothing to do with how he's playing...he's playing the same way he's always played, he's just not getting free points from being in the top 6 and on the PP as he has in the past. The only noticeable difference in his game with the face injury is that he doesn't fight obviously, everything else is the same slow dump and chase game, and occasionally breaking up a play defensively which leads people to think he's good defensively when his lines consistently give up more than they generate.
From his first two seasons as a NYR is 2 of 64 points garnered on the pp a lot? 1 of his 24 goals were on the pp.

Also I would be careful of trading Berard. He has a good rookie year in Hartford and still feel can be a very good homegrown bottom 6 guy in a year or two.

Doesn’t help much to think about what there is zero market for.
There would be a market for him, i wouldn't expect a return, probably goodrow and a 3rd for a 5th or something like that to a team that has space. I'm pretty sure we're moving Jones so he could probably go in a package with him too but as i said i think management likes Goodrow around the team and maybe feels we don't have too many forwards that will willingly drop the gloves outside of Cuylle. I just get the feeling they have little insterest in moving on from him, i mean the guy is in the lineup every night, they seemingly have no issue with him, i dunno.

Easy way to number a line...whatever line Panarin is on is line one.

I could see Jones moved as a sweetener to take on the Goodrow contract, but Goodrow probably is able to block a trade to any team that would consider using cap space to net picks/prospects, since Drury gave him a 15-team NTC. Why??

My healthy lineup is

Panarin Trochek Laf
Cuylle Zibanejad Kakko
Kreider Chytil Othmann
Vesey Goodrow Wheeler

Gustafson Trouba
Miller Fox
Lindgren Schneider

1st line, 2a+2b, and a good 3rd line caliber 4th. All lines can score, all lines have a bit of grit, this is my dream lol

Vesey on the top line...

Sigh
Vesey is a great utility player and works well with top players cause he is really, really smart. And he isn't bereft of talent. That line would be great.

I love the idea of a "3rd line caliber 4th line." Cuylle - 4C - Vesey. Bonino and Goodrow have pretty similar metrics that take a nose dive when they're together. One of those are okay for the season. Neither should touch a 3rd line though. Edstrom next season? I'm trying not to get too high on him. Like, "Chytil retires and Edstrom is the 3C." LOL AFAIK, he's been developed as a defensive C, so he can fit a 4C role with a bit of talent.

I actually love those D pairs and told my cousin we should try these out

That 4th line is fried ass.
Goodrow and Bonino have been good as far as 4th line expectations and on the PK...individually. They have been pretty brutal together. Cheeks. Splitting them up was the only silver lining of rolling 3C Bonino for about a month. I want the team so stacked that coach is forced to scratch one of them.

No Cuylle?

Well i doubt this. Anybody know if this dude is serious? At the bottom it says he covers the Mavs and MLB. I don't trust it but it's something to discuss.

And interesting it's the Flames...

Maybe the author visits our little corner of the web, like Larry.

That's a terrible proposal

Could the Rangers fit Nick Bjugstad if Arizona flounders?

I am looking at UFA's for next off-season and I am trying to expand the search for potential trade candidates at this deadline.

Joel Armia
Yanni Gourde
Jordan Greenway
Nick Bjugstad
