They're not matching him up against anyone.

Laviolette doesn't really hard match his lines at all. They're definitely playing Trouba a lot more at 5v5.

He seems to be trying to create a more offensive role for Fox and it isn't working.

It's hard to say because right now he is visibly diminished because either he came back too soon and is still hurt or the injury won't get worse and he's laboring. We really only have what, 13 games to start the year to go off of.

Just popping in to say the Rangers don't need a forward if Kakko (practicing fully soon) and Chytil (working out in Czechia per IG) are coming back this year. I'm sure there was handwringing over Othmann being benched late in a close game, but once he has 15-20 under his belt I think he can be a bigger contributor as guys get pushed down the lineup. Lets get Edstrom some more games too while were at it.

We need another D. Hanifin is the guy imo. I know everyone is worried about "who comes out of the lineup" but thats ignoring that someone will definitely get hurt *cough* Lindgren *cough*. And the outside the box thinking would be to rotate the 7 guys to keep them fresh, which I admit is wishful at best. Gustafsson has been a good find but Im ok with the 31 year old journeyman on essentially a vets minimum coming ot of the lineup in favor of another true top 4 D like Hanifin.

is Robertson+ 1st rounder + a conditional pick if Hanifin resigns enough? I feel like thats going to be the framework in any trade. In the offseason you dump Lindgren to recoup some picks and re-sign Gus

Any time you can have 15+ mil between two dmen who won’t PP you don’t walk, you run to do it.

HF, where the non-NHL options are the go to options. What's the worst that can happen, am i right?

Edit: to be fair, it's not just HF. It's the life I've lived as a former high major DOBO and current 247 consultant. The new crop is always gonna be ready day 1 to kick out the old crop.

People are all over RW options when Chytil is likely done for the year. They need a C DESPERATELY.

Agreed I’m buying a center. I can move someone to wing if anything. I don’t have a whole lot of faith in chytil right now. If I trade for a Henrique and Chytil is healthy Henrique can play wing or center the 4th line. You win down the middle.

I'm not convinced Kakko is going to be immediately placed back on that line. He wasn't there when he got hurt. We will see though.

Call me negative but somehow I don't see Kakko breaking out on that line. But I guess he will be a bit better than Wheeler but that's not saying a lot.

Just hoping after the reset Kakko has is a bit more confidence with the puck again, but worst case he's not going to be any worse offensively than Wheeler but will be much better defensively.
