Malkin would be a short term commitment, can’t see how that could be bad.
You mean the guy who can’t stay healthy, is a cheap shot artist and likely wants 6M+?
Also there’s no reports that Malkin is willing to take a short deal. That could be why he’s gone from Pittsburg, because they can’t give him 5 years

He's strong on the puck, strong on the boards, he's one of thr team's best possession players, he's one of the team's best defensive forwards.

He is 21.
And in an ECF's when Gerard said he put out the players that they (coaches) thought gave the team the best chance to win a game... Dryden fn Hunt was in and our 2nd overall was in a suit.

Imagine if Jack Hughes was scratched for Jimmy Vesey lol.

This was not something I expected to read today or any other day for that matter... "a player & a high pick for Geogiev"

Not sure they could be any more out to lunch on this.

Must be a misprint, can’t imagine he said anything else than “it will take a high player and a pick to get Georgiev”.

Gallant wanted more speed in the lineup, and we all knew it was the wrong decision then, and the wrong decision now.
That being said Kakko played a really good playoff and if he manages to get faster will be a very good nhl player.
Several “if’s” in there but the tools are there if he adds speed

These Canadian insiders are too much sometimes.

Does Drury really expect to get that price now for Georgiev? No.

These morons listen and read this nonsense. When the Rangers don't get anything close to this or if they even get anything for his rights, all of the imbeciles on the main board will say "see the Rangers didn't what they wanted for Georgiev".

I am not saying it’s wrong, but I never really understood the reasoning for why Georgiev is done here. How can he get a ton in arbitration?

So many teams are looking for goaltending. If Geo didn’t play awful last season he would fetch a good return.

Maybe he can turn it around, I hope you are right. I'm starting to sense Marcel Hossa. Not Marion.

And that Gallant scratch ( right or wrong ) is a huge message to the young man.

He can't be a little better next season. Step needs to have length.

And like you said. KK needs to get some gitty in his up.

Staple has a bunch of information in his new article.

Nils still has a lot of value

Chytil seems like main guy teams asking about

A lot more, someone else write it up, I’m too lazy

Chytil "the most talked-about Ranger in Drury’s various trade conversations"

Kakko and Chytil could be moved in a deal, but only for the likes of Scheifele or Larkin.

Nils and Kakko/Chytil should be enough for J.T. Miller.

Gauthier and Georgiev have both asked to be traded. Rangers are like "Yeah, you think we want you? We're trying." Edmonton has interest in Georgiev, but wants to send a mid-sized contract back.

I hope we don’t make the Chytil mistake. There’s a reason why he’s coveted and it’s going to be a bummer to watch him blossom elsewhere. Don’t trade him please, just play him.

OK, if it’s the case it’s of course a no-go.

6m for 1 year is totally different than 6m for 2 years for us.

The number I saw at the Athletic was 1 year and 4.2m from Evolving Wild project. I get that could have little bearing, but I don’t see anyone giving Malkin like 6-7m for 5 years. He isn’t that good and have serious issues already, the risk is waaaay to high. But 1 year at 5m? Sure, I could live with that. Also think he is a good influence for the kid. He is a super professional.

Also, the Rangers have talked to Calgary about Sean Monahan.

When Miller leaves as a free agent in 11 months and the Rangers are out two of the prime assets, who is playing center in 23-24 and beyond?

F them.

The video doesn't work in the U.S. even though the globe indicated it's not geo blocked.

Doesn't work.

Dreger says Dubois won't go to Rangers unless they give up one of Chytil, Kakko or Schneider plus a 1st (or similar asset).

Someone else.

Again, a wan with Copp and Chytil is better than one with only Dubois. That’s short term and long term more than likely. They can make the cap work, it just requires some maneuvers next offseason which they CAN do. And it requires no more assets be spent

Has anyone heard any rumors on who is being bought out? Surer was a surprise last year.

Kassian
Zucker (?)
White (?)
Hornqvist (?)

almost guaranteed them trading Chytil will blow up in their face.

Team never learns, have to be patient some times.

Also we know how this story is going to end, all this noise and big names they’re connected to and in the 11th hour Strome will cave giving them a discount and we’ll run it back with largely the same squad that was obviously not good enough

I have no problem with the Rangers trading a couple of younger players(Chytil and Lundkivist) for a center. However, can they acquire someone who will be here for at least 3 years? If they trade Kakko, who is their best RW on the roster? Kravtsov? The Rangers will back at square one in their search for a center and they will be out two assets to get that center.

The teams in that building never have patience.

I have a feeling Rangers and Copp will just come to an agreement as free agency either opens or is underway. Something 5-years, $5.35M per. Drury keeps the assets, signs Motte, runs it back next year but with Jones>Nemeth.
I would love to see the Rangers just play Jones but I remain skeptical.

I'm also not yet comfortable with just rolling with Schneider as a full-time regular and I know I'm very much in the minority.
