I'm sure Boston would be interested in Zibanejad. They don't have the Newhook/Krebs/Glass kind of prospect (I don't think Vegas move Glass, he's already called up and playing well with their top guys) but we can have our old friend with the fascinating stickwork, Mr. Studnicka

You know what...it has been such a crazy year that is something I would not want to bet against . Maybe they have him take some life changing courses from a shrink or whatever....he is still a Ranger asset of sorts .....see if we can polish the tarnished genie again and restore some lustre and maybe we get something better for him by the start of next season. It's NY....anything is possible these times . LMAO....maybe I get crucified for saying that...oh well....been a fan for almost 50 years now....I have taken my lumps believe you me .

He's never playing here again...like ever.

1. Trade for Eichel around Kakko, Strome, Georgie, Z Jones, and a 1st
2. Trade Zibs 2mil retained for Newhook
3. Resign Buch at 6-6.25
4. Lose Lemmy or Gauthier in Exp draft
5. Couple of other minor moves like resign Blackwell

in 2 years:
Laf Eichel Buch
Panarin Chytil Krat
Krieder Newhook Barron (I love this line)
Khodorenko Blackwell Howden
Richards
Miller Trouba
Lindgren Fox
Robertson/Tarmo/Hajek Lundkvist
Igor/Wall or FA
Pipeline: Cuylle, Reuschoff, Vierling, Berard, Henriksson, Schneider, Skinner

So you're assuming that a team who has a player like that is willing to trade them? For a soon-to-be FA in the midst of a nightmare season no less?

I'm assuming it is possible. Not necessarily a guarantee.

Worth exploring.

We got Zibanejad for Brassard so these things happen.

So what that doesn’t make him better
I was stating why I said I thought he was better

Jack Eichel next to a guy like Panarin? Who cares whos better, youd have the highest scoring duo in the league without any question

If Eichel means Mika out, they can't trade Chytil. You've got to find some other way to make it work or reneg on the idea entirely.
Without Chytil, you are looking at the reneg idea. Buffalo is going to need a promising young center back. They will have no interest in Strome.

As stated a number of times, in a vacuum a deal for Eichel sounds great. Once you start to peel the layers off the onion, you discover that it is not quite the slam dunk some think.

Panarin had his best ever season playing with Strome and Fast so I’m unclear if it really matters who his line mates are in terms of productivity

Yeah I kno but what you said doesn’t mean he’s better

You’re basically telling me he’s better bc he was in the nhl first

tht has nothing to do with which player is actually better right now

panarin is definitely the more impactful player rn

What do people think about working on a deal with SJ for someone like Hertl? He has another year on his contract. UFA at age 28. Maybe he would take a more reasonable deal and be a nice support center on this team.

Hertl on a line with Kakko & Kreider would give other teams fits. That is the definition of "hard to play against". Sign me up.

I suppose I didnt word it properly, as I agree with you

I meant Jack Eichel was better at those ages (since Panarin was in the KHL but even then id take PPG nhl over any KHL stats)

for sure, the last three years, id take Panarin over Eichel. But if Eichel wasnt on Buffalo? Hell lets say he doesnt play with Panarin, I think he could still out pace him with teammates other than Sam Reinhart.

That also included a powerplay with Zibanejad. I believe Zibanejad and Panarin had one of the highest rates of shared points on a PP last season

I'm looking out west for a Zib trade partner. Vegas or Colorado for a good C prospect, pick, and a body to offset some money. Glass or Newhook.
I’m weary of them giving up that type of player for 1 year of Zibanejad but that would be the ideal outcome

I don’t blame the zibby trade proposals but man if you would have told me before we shut everything down that we would be talking about trading this guy 11-12 months later I would have told you that you were crazy. And not even in trade deals for Eichel

If Eichel went elsewhere, Hertl would be the type of center I'd be looking for. Someone who, on their next contract, would be looking more at that $6-7m range

Realistically we could afford both. I can see Hertl being available as a UFA. The Sharts are will be bottom feeders for the foreseeable future & I would imagine Hertl could be persuaded to move to NYC.

super talented player but as he approaches 30 two major knee surgeries may take something out of him
