As always, things depend on the cost, but you could do much worse for bottom 6 depth than Laughton. Has one year left at $3 million.

I wouldn't be willing to part with too much for him.

Would much rather Jake Evans than Laughton.

Righty. Probably cheaper to acquire. His extension won't be much more than Laughton's current contract. Younger
To be honest, I’m not a fan of either.

Evans is an above average fourth liner having a career year as a UFA.

Laughton is a clear tier above Evans and is a very good third line center.

It just feels like both players are so overhyped though and Flyers/Canadiens are trying to get teams to massively overpay for both. I’d rather not be the team that does.

I would prefer if Fitzgerald targeted an under the radar player instead that would be way cheaper.

Need defense to chip in also occasionally aside from Hamilton. But you are not wrong. Meier also isn't helping.

Not nearly as much as is said here. Timo is missing a bunch of goals and Haula turning into a 0 hurts. But we’ll be fine with 1 pretty good add or 2 decent ones.
Ya Timo not scoring, especially over the last 20+ games is the way bigger issue. I’ll throw Bratt in there too.

Which is not to say they haven’t played well, or in Bratts case assisting on goals, but these guys do need to score goals. Which I do think we will see down the stretch.

Also think the likes of Haula, Lazar, Tatar and Bastian, as a group, will score at a better rate down the stretch then they have thus far this year.

In terms of an under the radar move, another name I can see Fitz looking into (perhaps with some discussion with Keefe) is Michael Bunting. He played for Keefe in Toronto.

Even though he isn't really cheaper. But perhaps better value.

Honestly, I think that's wishful thinking tbh.

Haula is cooked, Bastian has never scored at any kind of rate, Lazar is hum drum beige man and Tatar is past it.

We need to replace these guys asap.

NHL fans have realistic expectations for what bottom 6 forward production looks like challenge (impossible)

I read somewhere that Jordan Kyrou could possibly be made available by St Louis. Kyrou is just 26, scoring 31 and 37 goals the past two seasons. He’s signed long term at 8m per year. It’s hard to imagine making this work with Cap constraints unless someone like Mercer was sent the other way. Would you guys be interested?

Haula and Allen would have to be going the other way. What's the add?
