Yeah, it's fun to speculate (and isn't that why we're all here?), but given @Edge's report, sounds like the other teams are more likely trading partners – right now, at least.

The bigger the deal, the harder it is for all the pieces to fall into place, the more likely it is to die on the vine.

I think we’ve all seen once something like this gets out there and it’s out there it’s best to make the move and get on with it. Dragging out becomes a distraction and in the end the trade gets made either way so best to handle it quickly and get the best value.
We also have zero clue what JE has told Buffalo management. He might have said he'll play nice for now but he will make it ugly if it's not resolved. That's the part of it that we just don't know.

With the salary unloads of Hank and Staal and another two first round picks coming up we are in such great shape on all fronts. Be patient JG. Only want deal if it makes 99.9 percent sense for future not just for next year

yup, and no matter how hard we try these 19/20 year olds can’t mature to 23-26 within a few months.

I’ll just add while it’s fun to talk about big names like eichel, when you already have a number 1 center 27 years old and more importantly have a super star winger in Panarin and potentially 2 more in Lafreniere and Kakko, Lafreniere especially a guy that drives play just from the wing, it seems less important to add a 10 mil center to that group. A guy that plays solid 2 way Hockey who’s good at getting the puck to these guys and who’s points probably outrun his salary because these wingers elevate him is a more responsible way to build the team imo.

A 10 Mill center is an interesting way to refer to a 24 yo who is a top 5 Center in the entire league. A player like Eichel will only become available to this team once in a blue moon, you go for it if there's a shot. If it doesnt work out we can certainly say we tried. Having a top5 Winger, a top5 C, and the best prospect in the league on the same team is not something that happens on a regular basis.

Exciting times and a lot of speculation

Hoping fans keep their heads though as the roster will likely be less experienced than last season. It won’t be the coach’s fault and no these kids aren‘t busts.

J.D. said we aren’t even close so temper the expectations and enjoy the bumpy ride. Roster will likely have Laf, Miller, Barron, Krazkov in their rookie seasons with others still finding their way.

We would still be a better team on paper than last year by adding LAF, Kravs, Kakko in second year, Igor for the entire year, and addition by subtraction with Staal gone.

hes a 10 million dollar center because of the reasons you mentioned. That should have been implied.

You may have 2 top 5 centers the way Zib is developing, but I do understand K27s point. The idea is to win a championship and construct a well balanced team that is built for a playoff run, not just destroy the offensive record books. But hell, you may achieve both...
