Panarin & NYR are a match made in heaven, no way.I know that this sounds insane, but what are the chances that Panarin gets traded for a haul? Seems like just the kind of out of left field move that might happen.

I have wondered about it if you assume that Lafreniere just takes the reigns as the star winger, but I don't see Panarin bringing back anything that's better than Panarin.I know that this sounds insane, but what are the chances that Panarin gets traded for a haul? Yeah, I mean, guys like Kreider and Zibanejad were on quality Rangers teams. Kreider re-signed at a time where you could realistically hope for improvement and even more so Zibanejad if he extends. Those are guys I could see waiving on the basis of "I thought they would be better than this."The complete and total NMC was the big part of him taking a discount to come to New York. He's here until he doesn't want to be any more.
The Rangers need a RHD like I need a third nipple.Dumba looking great. Trade Strome for him before expansion please!!!

Trading one of your best chips for something you have too much of is absolutely not good asset management lolGood asset management, great depth, and a great player that can babysit for Jones in the bottom 4 next year. Would've done the team wonders to have another good experienced RD once Trouba went down, and its not like Strome is part of the long term plans? If we're going out to get a top 6 Center somewhere this off season Strome is all kinds of expendable.

I get why everyone is upset about the Trouba injury and the way we looked after it, but you know what? Top 4 defensemen get hurt. It's always bad when that happens. You can't build your team to make that not happen in a league that has a salary cap.
Strome is definitely one of our best trade chips that we would actually trade and could trade without it leaving a big hole.Strome is not one of our best chips lol. Dumba has an extra year, plays at a highly coveted position. Worst case scenario is it kicks the can down the road for a better asset. No team will pay full price for strome because the reputation (right or wrong) is that he is a product of Panarin. Minnesota actually needs a center and will lose Dumba to expansion otherwise so this is a best case scenario for them

RD being a highly coveted position is a meme and it's simply not true for the Rangers. We have Fox, Trouba, Lundkvist, and Schneider.
If you need a stopgap, sign Joe Schmoe for a year and trade Strome for something we need.

Somebody mentioned how coveted RHD are so it's obligatory to post this

Would you prefer we trade that cupboard for Hertl, or sign Danault?
Not sure adding Hertl would mean emptying the cupboard. He has one year left on his deal & San Jose can't possibly expect an Eichel type package. Buch & Jones would be my initial offer. Maybe add a 2nd rounder.
Maybe a veteran D on the left side where we're already actively playing multiple rookies and the grizzled vet just turned 23?2 rookies that haven't stepped foot on NHL ice, that at least 1 are likely to be traded for a top6 center this off season. For a team that has a mandate from the owner to make the playoffs next year, they aren't going to be looking to plug more holes with rookies.
What would we get for Strome that we'd need? like legitimately, name a few reasonable targets. We dont need any wingers, and Strome isn't going to return a better center than him. Its been reported that they're going to add another good vet to the blue line. I'm curious what a better options you think are available?
Here for itIf the team makes a playoff push next season, we should totally go for "Third Nipple Playoff Push" avatars (don't mind me. I spent 8 hours today in an online QM Rubric PD session and my brain is completely fried, haha).
Arizona can throw their hat whenever they want, they ain’t throwing it on a 10 million dollar a year player. Never happening, especially not in the COVID revenue era for a team that already the least valuable of the bunch.
3 knee surgeries in 6 years and hes due for an extension next year? Big pass.
I think you're adding an extra surgery, I believe he's had two. Regardless, he proved he was healthy this year.
Even if we were ready, there's probably better things we can do with our assets than get a RHD when we have Fox playing 24 minutes and you're splitting the other 36 with Trouba. The speculation that one of Nils and Schneider are destined to be traded is just that- speculation.
Edge has hinted that guys aren’t untouchable but beyond that you can only really guess. Plus drury is in charge now and who knows what his plan is.
We have the luxury of picking and choosing our defensemen moving forward, and I’m not opposed to good trades, but we had livid Hajek playing almost the whole season so let’s not pretend we are ready yet
