The habs are getting Rantanen, or Marner.

same contract at 14 x 7 let's say.

Which one are you choosing and why ?

In real life the habs get neither and they sign Dominik Kubalik and bring him back to the NHL.

Ok not that bad, but theres low belief to land either, but go have fun.

Marner. He also pretty solid defensively. 200 ft player. If his production falls off a bit at the end of his, at least he his pretty solid all around guy.

Depends on numbers. If you can lock Evans at 3m, I would do it. The cap goes up and give time for Beck to developp.

If Evans wanted $3M, he’d have signed by now. He wants a lot more then that.

If Habs win next 3GP and close the gap, with easiest remaining schedule strength in the NHL, I don’t see anyone getting dealt, in fact I suspect HuGo will add.

Keep in mind many of those teams that makeup the “easiest schedule strength” will likely be disposing assets at deadline making them even weaker….

Honestly, the only player really worth anything is Evans, maybe Armia which is why they're trying to package them to increase the value. Otherwise, Savard, Dvo etc. aren't fetching you anything significant at this point and Habs don't need the extra 4th or 5th rounders.

So I'd still expect Evans and possibly Armia to be traded but that's about it.

I wish 690 when they interview a loser like Dreg's. keep the subjet to the the habs, 690 should not ask ?'s on the figs.
as well, Dreg's cuts down the chances for KH to get a 1st, but gloats that figs are going to score big time.

if I ever see or run into guys like dregs I will call him out on the homer attitude.

What’s there to fear exactly? Getting mid rounders for Dvorak, Savard etc is going to have negligible value to this team vs 53% of roster going through the grind of high intensity March / April games - even if they don’t capture a wildcard spot

Pending UFAs should simply be viewed as deadline acquisitions - Habs have so many picks who gives a f*ck about adding more 3/4/5th rounders

I wonder if a team tries to pick up Primeau from the habs for depth and then see him as their back up next year.

It's not worth the low pick he'd get to take him out of Laval for this year's run.

We currently have 6% chance of making the playoffs. Hugo will trade players if we get good offer. As others said, I also expect Evans and Armia to be traded.

I’d much rather Rantanen than Marner. He’s at least been a beast in the playoffs and has actually scored over 100 points in a season.

We currently have 6% chance of making the playoffs. Hugo will trade players if we get good offer. As others said, I also expect Evans and Armia to be traded.

I doubt that the trades Hughes can make at this year's deadline will move the needle much, TBH.

If Hughes can get a 1st round pick for Evans, or a combination of Evans + Armia, or gets offered a 1st round pick + a prospect, out of the blue, for Matheson, I say, "Make the move."

Otherwise, there is more value in playing more meaningful games from now until the end of the season when it comes to future success for the Habs.

Hughes, IMO, already has enough trade chips to add something worthwhile to the roster in the offseason. Plus, there is the UFA market to explore.

If the Leafs were sitting outside the playoffs and had Jake Evans as trade bait, Dreger would be standing on his soapbox telling everyone how valuable they are and how the Leafs are going to have their pick of the litter as it relates to 1st round picks.
